i love the name but maybe nakaya. i think people would pronounce it correctly if it was spelled that way. i think Nakiya kinda makes people want to say nuh-kee-yah. but its a beautiful name no matter what you decide

Na - Key - Ya. I would pronounce Ki this way because of the time I spent living in Japan and learning the language. It's also the same way that Vivica Fox (as Vernita Green) pronounced her daughter's name in Kill Bill (Volume 1).

I like it a lot. Its very beautiful! When I was pregnant if I was going to have a girl I was going to name her Kiya or Kiyla. So adding the Na to it is a really nice touch.

I've only ever heard Nikiya to rhyme with Nikita (nee-KEE-ta) -- and to be honest, prefer Nikita (a traditional Russian name) -- but since the question was regarding pronunciation, this is how I would therefore pronounce it. nee-KEE-ya (beginning "nee" not quite as drawn-out as it looks ... almost a short "i" sound when you say it quickly). Hopefully you understand. :)
Anything that rhymes with "sky" (or, more accurately, "sky-a") is incredibly trendy at the moment -- I've seen the spellings Maya, Maia, Myah, Mia, Nia, Naia, Naya, Nyah, Jaia, Jia, Jyah, Jaya, Gaia, Gia, Gaya, Guya, Gyah, Ryah, Raia, Raya, Ria, Shia, Shaia, Shya, Shaya, Kaia, Kyah, Kya, Kia and Kaya all said to rhyme with "sky-a" LOL -- so obviously something like Nakya or Nakaia might offer the pronunciation you're looking for, but I'm not recommending them or anything. Trying to create a name by using something already popular and tacking on a random prefix (in this case Na-) comes across as just that.
I'd simply use Kaia, if you love it, or the similar Nakita (and maybe use Kia -- but said KEE-a -- as a nickname).
Ps. I'd assume Nakaya was said na-KAY-a (despite being very aware of the trend LOL). Kaya alone would be a toss-up, given that, but when part of a longer name, it just appears it would be KAY-a, as it looks.

I like it as Nuh-Ki-uh (same thing without the Ya, just uh)
I would spell it as Nakya. Actually nevermind because at first glance my spelling looks like "Naky (like Naked)-a). So I like your spelling. Nakiya is a very pretty name!
