Like someone ask for your opinion, and you give a perfectly good, non-insulting opinion, and then you get a ton of thumbs down for it?
Example:
Question: Rate this jerk from 1-10. (Gives link of some jerk none of us know or ever heard of)
Answer: I'll give him a 7.
BOOOO!!! (Thumbs down begin to fly every which way)
They ask for your opinion!! Do they want you to lie to them, or give them a true and optional answer!? Why do so many people get thumbs down for their opinion, even when it isn't insulting!?

I hate it!! It's an opinion, so there isn't a right or wrong answer.....So then I don't see why we should get thumbs down....
Oh by the way I gave thumbs up to everyone who answered this Q before me:) So I'm not giving the thumbs down.

some people just like giving thumbs down..
Sometimes, I jokingly answered some of the questions.. and hoping the asker will understand..and walao.... tonnes of thumbs down coming..and my answer got deleted....
come on... we need some cheering up everyday! Didnt insult anyone..but just answering the question in another way...
like...
"how can I improve my weights in short time?"
I answered "dude, go get some McD diet..and in no time you will be like Michael Moore"
geeeeez... LOL.. I give them true and optional.. I think abt the a 7. u just said a 7.. instead of.. he/she beautiful eyes.
a 7...sounds so short. hehe

I agree with you, I only give a thumbs down if it's like a troll or something or someone is being really insulting! but...if you get a thumbs up theres a good chance it was from me!!! I love to give thumbs up!

But the person asking the question doesn't give you the thumbs down other people do. The person who asked the question my find you opinion to be interesting no matter how many thumbs down other people gave it !

Hey, I will answer questions no matter how many thumbs down I get. That is just part of Yahoo now. It has been happening on everyone's questions. You definitely are not alone.

Yeah it's annoying. I go on the angel anaheim pitcher's blog (john lackey) and he is able to put thumb's down to blog posts and comments to his articles and everytime someone puts down a negative or constructive comment about him he puts thumb's down. it's a sign of a person with a big ego that is for sure!

I agree. I think Y!A should make it to where people can post comments on your answers and tell why they disagree with your answer because I would like to know why some people disagree with my answers. That would also give you a way to defend your answer. That would make it fair to me.

I have had thumbs down for something that was not insulting. Or really even disagreeable at that! I think they are just jealous of my avatar! LOL!
