To add fractions, the denominators must be equal.
common denominator: 12
t+2/3+5t/6=4t-5/12
or (12t + 8 + 10t)/12 = (48t - 5)/12
or 22t + 8 = 48t - 5
or (48 - 22)t = 8 + 5
or 26t = 13
or t = 1/2

12 t + 8 + 10 t = 48 t - 5
22 t + 8 = 48 t - 5
13 = 26 t
t = 1/2

t+2/3+5t/6=4t-5/12
First clear denominators by multiplying both sides of the equation by 12, the lowest common denominator.
12{t+2/3+5t/6}=12{4t-5/12}
12t+8+10t=48t-5
Collect the t's together, put constants on right side of the equal sign.
12t+10t-48t= -5-8
-26t= -13
Multiply both sides by (-1)
26t=13
Divide by 26
t=13/26
t=1/2
