No way, in fact you can better and cheaper seats that way. Some theatres have hotlines for single seat tickets, some at cheap prices! Because people buy tickets in different ways the theatre often gets stuck with single seats here and there, even in the best rows. You could get the best seat in the house for $20. Check theatre websites for info, but sometimes on a certain date they will release single seats to the public for a much lower price than regular retail. The Ahmanson in LA has them for $20 and other theatres do this as well. I don't see that program on the Hilton Theatre website, but that doesn't mean it doesn't exist. Call them http://hiltontheatre.com/faq.php#13 never hurts to ask. THere's always the half price TKTS booth as well where I would imagine you're a lot more likely to find a single ticket than 4 together.

good luck and have fun

Its Ok to go alone. You dont talk to anyone during the show anyways, so its not like you are going to be missing out on conversation. If there is an intermission, you can use the bathroom, make a call, get something to drink, and when you go back to your seat, you can mingle with the people near you until the show starts again.

Awkward schmawkward! Go! Who cares what it seems? You've got your chance. See it. Same advice for any other adventure: act like you own the place.

Jackson Browne came to town. Nobody I knew was interested. I went alone.

i dont think so. i would think its like going to a movie alone. ive been to a broadway show, and my friends and i really didnt have much to talk about. intermission would be a little akward, but just use the restroom, or call a friend who didnt want to go and gloat about how great it is! =] tehehe

GO! I don't see any reason that you have to go with someone. And you'll probably be able to get a good seat.

And your friends don't want to see "Young Frankenstein"!? What's wrong with them. Geesh...I'd go if I was in NY.
