AL GORE, has done his part for his country, so every one should respect him for that. Unlike, "present others!!!" whom their deep pockets are their priorities!!, no need to mention their names, for it's irrelevant to your Que.!!
AL GORE, among other things, has done an outstanding job on his documentary. He brought a forgotten and urgent issue to surface that if not fixed in our near future, we'll all pay a hefty price for it!
Another reason to admire him for highlighting this issue is ""the ignorance"" that will destroy this planet.
Referring to some of the responses to your Que., proves his point!!
While we're at it, Michael Moore is another respectable genius for the job.
I would definitely give him the prize.

If Al Gore wins the Nobel Prize for anything, it will call into question every single prize given or about to be given.
If I were a Nobel Prize winner, I would start a letter writing campaign to eliminate the possibility.
That he won an Oscar was fitting. The Hollywood drones were right on task with that, perfectly predictable and appropriate.
Just think about what Hollywood is.
It is the epitome of consumption sitting directly in the heart of the worst pollution in the country, participating in wonton waste and drinking stolen water within view of off shore oil platforms that they all benefit from and they give an Oscar to a man who's married to a woman who appeared before congress to censor the arts.
Ohhhhhhh the irony.

The Nobel Peace prize is truely a joke. Einstein won it. Thats the same "genius" that gave us the equations for the atomic bomb. As well as Arafat. The whole thing is disgusting.
You should check out the medicine category. The treatments that won in the past have been completely shown to be sham and dangerous.

Nooooooo; if so I want one for complaining and pointing at the problem without giving a solution. The Nobel is awarded to those who excel in there field and benefit humanity. How is pointing out an issue that was already known a benefit, perhaps he will get one for raising awareness or funds for the cause but no prize has ever been awarded for that in the past.

Yes. His wrk on educating the public worldwide about climate change is an invaluable conribution to the welfare of people all over the world.
He has his critics, of course--anyone with the courage to take a stand does. But judging by the kind f people who criticize him, he must be doing something right!

NO what has global warming got to do with peace?
Maybe a Nobel Prize for environmental concerns but not the peace prize.
