Are they not smart enough to realize nearly all taxes are paid by the rich and corporations?

Yet they want to take down the rich and corporations. Don't they realize corporations provide them their jobs? Don't they realize if corporations didn't have to pay most of their profit to taxes they might get a raise?

Why are liberals self destructive.

Where did you people learn the middle class are paying all of the taxes?

What planet are you from. If anyone should be pissed its the rich. They have to pay a larger chunk of their money than anyone.

Just because they make or have more doesn't give us the right to steal their money because others don't want to be as ambitious as them.

Becasue the poor elect them. They don't want to insult their base by telling them the truth.

How can one even answer a question like this? (which is not even a question at all)

First of all, I do not know anyone who is claiming that poor people pay all the taxes. The claim from liberals is that the taxes they do pay are unfair (sales taxes especially)

Liberals know exactly where the bulk of tax revenue comes from. Liberals are not inters ted in taking corporations down, they are interested in fairness, justice, and the rule of law. Corporations on the other hand are interested only in profit. So you can see why Corporation need regulation and oversight.

Corporations also benefit handsomely from the taxes they pay. We have an educated population ready to work paid for by taxes. We have the worlds best transportation infrastructure to move goods paid for by taxes and fees. We have research and development churning out innovations corporations use to make their businesses more efficient paid for by taxes. We have a safe country to do business in kept safe by Police and military paid for by taxes. I could go on and on.

On a similar note, there would be far fewer rich people without the opportunities that education, safety and infrastructure (all paid for with taxes) provide.

It's perfectly OK to argue that the tax bill is too high, but it's just plain stupid to argue that it is high because liberals are out to destroy corporations.

You're paying out the ying yang for almost everything and you're singing the praises of corporations. Let's face the truth, maybe ten percent of the people in a corporation make any real money, the rest are just drones subject to losing their job at any moment. Small privately owned corporations are fine, it's the giant multi-national publicly traded corporations that could care less about you, me or anyone else not in the inner circle. Remember how great those giant corporations are the next time you put gas in your car, or go to the hospital, or pay your phone or cable bill. Sprint dumping a thousand customers because they complained about their service too much. Let's all cheer the giant corporations fall on our knees and praise their generosity.

Another generalization that won't help in this debate.

I believe that people support these corporations. take for instance Microsoft. It wouldn't be what it was if no one bought the product. My point is that corporations don't provide jobs first, it takes a group of people to support the corporation. If it isn't a group of people, it's the corporation that is doing business with the government in the forms of contracts, paid for by the taxes of the mass, especially if the corporation gets a tax break, as is so often the case. And most of the jobs that are provided are from small businesses and the government sectors. So what exactly has a corporation provided that small businesses couldn't?

Again, please refrain from making generalizations like this. It doesn't do much but turn off the middle (like me) and further agitates the opposing parties and that goes both ways.

There are several glaring errors in your question and your follow up, and unless you have some source links supporting your position, this is just more right-wing propaganda.

1. I know of no liberal (or anyone else for that matter) who claim "poor people pay all the taxes". The most which has ever been stated is the poor pay a DISPROPORTIONATE amount, related to their income. A $5,000 tax bill when you make $20,000 a year is huge chunk of money. However, if you made $50 Million last year, do you really have to sweat $1,500 a month in rent, for example?
2. Corporations are NOT providing jobs to Americans. They are taking our jobs to India and Mexico where the pay scale is much lower, and giving themselves MILLIONS they didn't earn in bonuses.
3. CEO pay is so far out of line with what the people actually doing the work make, even GWB warned corporate stockholders about the abundance of excessive CEO percs and golden umbrellas. CEOs in the US pay themselves over 400 times what their employees earn, on average. There are no raises for anyone else after that. in my own experience, I worked in an office for a conservative owner. That owner came to us before Christmas one year and said there would be no holiday bonuses, there just was no money that year, then bought herself a brand new Lexus.
By comparison, Japanese CEOs make an average 11 times what their employees earn.

4. If corporations pay so much a percentage of the total tax bill for the country, why did Ford Motor Co. not only NOT pay one dime in taxes for the year in 1985, but actually received $125 million in REFUNDS, due to creative accounting? Why do millions of our tax dollars go right back out to Exxon, who posted record profits the last 6 quarters in a row?
5. Liberals are not self destrcutive, we just believe in a good day's pay for a good day's work. Conservatives are always harping and bleeting about "Traditional Family Values", yet see nothing wrong with a middle class family where both parents have to work 2 jobs each, just to keep a roof over their heads these days. Whatever happened to the average family only needing to be "One Income"? Wouldnt that be considered a Traditional Family Value? NOT raising a generation of ignored LatchKey Kids, because the parents are both working 18 hours a day to make ends meet?

Who's calling for higher taxes on the poor? Inflation is the highest "tax" the poor are paying caused by reckless government spending and nonsensical printing of money.

The poor people don't pay the taxes it's the middle class moron. Corporations pay taxes but the percentage of what they pay out compared to what they bring in doesn't compare to what a middle class American makes and pays out.Corps may provide jobs but fewer and fewer pay enough to live on and don't offer retirement benefits. Look at American Airlines. Almost went bankrupt, the pilots and employees took salary cuts to keep the business going. They are now posting profits and giving upper level corporate employees bonuses but haven't given any of that money back to the employees that took the cut to help save the company. Typical repub economics. Make the rich richer and take advantage of the employee whenever possible. It makes me sick.

Poor people pay what I would call a disproportional percent of their income in taxes.

No one wants to make rich people poor. Many of us want to end corporate welfare by eliminating government subsidies to many corporations.

As for the whole premise of passing the profits on to the little guy- you are out of your mind. If corporations could pay $1 an hour they would. Oh wait, that's why we have an illegal immigration problem. And do you remember how the oil companies posted record profits recently? Did the price of gas go down?

Sorry to burst your bubble, my boy, but they don't give a solitary crap about anything but profit and keeping it.

I want to be paid a living wage for an honest day's work. How is that self destructive?

Liberals just realize that corporations can afford to pay more taxes without it affecting their quality of life, which would put more money into the government to help raise the quality of living to other groups of people.

Uhmmm...have you ever heard of sales, fuel and property taxes? The poor pay a higher percent of their income in taxes than the rich do. You obviously don't know the difference between progressive and regressive taxation so I won't waste my time showing you the math.
