The horn motor has been replaced three times because it gets stuck honking until it won't work at all and the back windows only work part of the time. The battery is only a few months old. The car runs great once I get it started but if I let it set overnight the battery is too weak to start the car. The engine is in good shape, I had it rebuilt and a factory rebuilt transmission installed at a dealer's shop a couple years ago. Going into winter, I know that the car will be useless unless I can get this problem fixed. I would welcome ideas from anyone, the car is in too good of shape to write off. Anyone know what the problem is?

My friend that is with no doubt in electrical system problem with the horn and the back window. But you may also have the alternator going bad, Note!!! About the alternator will be bad if you just put a new battery and still not charging, just because your battery is not charging means the alternator is bad. To test the alternator you can do this , but be careful...
with the car running remove the positive battery terminal, if the car dies then the alternator is bad, if it continue running the alternator is good, I said this because actually a car run with out a battery, because is the alternator who feed the Battery.
Check the battery first. best is to take it to Auto Zone and they can tested for you for free.

Good Luck!!

I'm guessing you have a shorted or grounded wire.
But start by making sure battery connections are clean.
Check that battery is charging normally, with a meter.
Then remove each of the fuses, & check for a short/ground.
You can use a voltmeter or testing light to check circuits.
Especially suspect where work was done previously.
e.g. there may be a wire pinched by the transmission.

either the alternator is bad and not charging the battery or you have something draining the battery overnight, stop at autozone and ask them to give you a free charging system check to make sure the alternator is good and if it is make sure your fan and alternator belt is tight and if thats ok I would disconnect the negative battery terminal from your battery at night when your done using the car and see if in the morning when you rehook the battery it will start and if it will you definately have something shorted draining the battery.

You may want to go and check the battery at a shop. It may need to be replaced again. Unfortunately, we just had to do the same thing with our car yesteday. I was stuck every morning having to jump it in order to drive anywhere. If your battery dies while your driving then it's your Alternater. Yet another fun repair. Good luck finding out the problem.

Sounds like the alternator, first make sure your fan belt is nice and tight..... then try this test.... with the car running remove the positive battery terminal, if the car dies then the alternator is bad, if it stays running it is good.

Without seeing the car, it sounds like a computer error in your car's electrical system as they are the only things running when the car's engine isn't running. Unless you've got your car's electrical system mapped out to you, you should bring it in to a mechanic who can run a diagnostic test.
