I think Heather makes some sense. The body can use a lot of energy fighting illness, and during that, the person is probably very tired and run down. Maybe the body throws the towel in, stops trying to heal, and the person feels better, but at the same time the illness is wiping them out.

As a matter of fact I seem to agree with you. My kid's kindergarden teacher had came down with flu like symptoms , maybe a few days ago and had been admitted to the hospital. From what her mom said, she was beginning to feel better, but was kept for further evaluation as she was a person w/hypertension. To make a long story short, she passed away, not due to flulike symptoms, but a blood clot to the heart this past Monday...She was so young, and a very quiet and kind-hearted lady, but I know she's in a better place and may she rest in peace! We <3 u Ava!

No you're right and it's so weird
My Mom was dying of cancer 2 days before she passed away she ate really good was strong enough to shower and wash her hair and later was walking down the halls in the hosp. It gave me hope that maybe she was turning around and would start getting better and than Boom
The next day she didn't eat and looked worst than before she passed away that evening

I noticed it when my wifes Grandmother passed from cancer. She was a very sick lady for a long time. She said one day she felt wonderful, got up and did some thing she hadn't for a while and passed during the night. Amazing. Almost like some power is making them better for their final journey wherever that may take them.

Yes-its called Rallying-it usually happens just before someone dies-they seem to suddenly get better for a while-maybe its a mechanism for saying goodbye to loved ones!!xx

Yes, it's amazing actually! It's like the body is trying to rally just one more time before death. I used to work at a county health department and watched 2 precious AIDS patients whither away to nothing, then bounce back to looking almost normal before they passed away. It's awful to say, but those who attended the funeral who hadn't seen them for a while found it very hard to believe they had died of AIDS.

Yes it does happen. I think it happens so that we can have one more conversation with the people we care about before they leave us. I think it is God's way of helping to ease our pain, knowing we had that last talk with them and saying what we wanted.

My grandma has cancer. She was alright before the operation, but now, after her operation the doctors said that there is nothing more that they can do to help. She is in the hospital bed. Lost over 60 pounds and is very weak :-(

I have heard of this before. Maybe they start to feel better because their bodies have given up on trying.
