I don't think there's an exact antonym/opposite of the word "epiphany" meaning sudden realisation or flash of insight.
The closest antonym I can think of is "momentary lapse of reason" (it's also the title of a Pink Floyd album).

Even though this question was asked 8 years ago, I feel the true answer has not been given yet. I believe the true antonym of epiphany is apophany. While an epiphany gives you a revelation, apophany gives you the false believe you had a revelation, which in fact is nothing.

Isn't an antonym the opposite of something. The opposite of an epiphany would be Alzheimer's I guess.
