Am I the only one that thinks boys should still run and play outside, carry pocket knives and catch frogs? and that little girls should still have tea parties?
and that gay, straight, Christian, Jew, Muslim, SOMETHING will ALWAYS offend someone... but why do we have to whine about it and ruin it for everyone else who ISNT offended by it?

You know what happens now when little boys act like little boys? Their parents give them Ritalin. I suppose if a little girl was playing with a G.I. Joe doll, her parents would take her to a psychoanalyst.

Due to the dictates of Political Correctness (PC), we have to go through the charade of having cane-dependent Grandma Sally from Des Moines searched at the airport, instead of 25 year-old swarthy Abdul.
We can't tell jokes without (gasp!) offending someone. C'mon, let's face it. A joke is only truly funny if there is an element of truth in it.
Finally, we have a comedienne like Carlos Mencia who playfully insults EVERYONE. We need that kind of refreshing honesty. If you are a legitimate target of a joke, he doesn't hide behind PC dictates. He lets you have it!
Isn't it great we finally have shows like South Park that will lampoon the incredible hypocrisy of PC behavior?

I would say the minute you allow Girls in the Boy Scouts, and Boys on the Girls Volleyball team, that you have went too far. I would say that when you call The Pledge a prayer because it has God in it, you went too far. Now, we have to say people of color, when their skin color is somehow offensive we went too far.

I think your children should do whatever makes them happy.
So if your son wants to have a tea party with his dolls, then it is up to him.
If your daughter wants to play tackle football with the boys then it is up to her.

it goes both ways... people need to just get over it when someone calls them a name or a stereotype or something... but at the same time if you don't pressure people to change their ignorant ways will they (or their prodigies) ever change?... you could jump further into this debate by asking why should anyone care if they change... and my answer to that would be that in the long run it's best for the nation.
so... both sides are right... but take themselves way too seriously.... in my personal opinion.
