I actually like Eliot for a girl, and this spelling is a nice literary nod to George Eliot (pen name of Mary Ann Evans, if you're not familiar). Definitely a strong namesake. ;)
Elliette, however, doesn't appeal to me in the least. It is NOT "the female version" of Elliot, because no such actual version exists. It is, however, a simple misspelling of the name in an attempt to make it appear more feminine. Just as one could name a girl Broos or Jahnythann and call them feminine forms of Bruce and Jonathan. Saying it simply doesn't make it so.
That said, I actually like less expected, traditionally-masculine choices for girls. I just find the trend to purposefully misspell them and assume an incorrect form somehow indicates femininity very unnecessary (and in many cases, quite awful, to be blunt). If you like Eliot, this seems the most sensible spelling. No reason to toy with the spelling if you like the name. Just use it.

Ellie is a nickname for it. However when I hear Elliette it sounds like Elliot so I think of a boy. Anyway, hope this helps. GOD bless.

It looks great in print but could be confusing when said out loud in a classroom setting...sounds too much like Elliot.
Nickname would be Ellie which is a much prettier name than Elliette

I like the Ellietta version suggested earlier, sounds more feminine. Like, Henriet & Henrietta are female versions of Henry.
Nicknames could be Ellie, Ella, Etta, Ell, Letta.
Good luck with whatever name you choose. It's a good idea to sound out nicknames now as we all know someone with a nickname horror story ;-)

I think the 'female version' looks funny... I would just stick to Elliot; i've seen girls with that spelling of the name. Usually blonds, but of course that doesn't matter.
Ella is nice nickname for either spelling.

I think it's kind of dumb since most people will not see the name in print and will naturally assume you gave your daughter the male name of Elliot. Don't do this to her.
