ok so my bf and i dont look like your normal run of the mill people. (he has blue hair and i have a septum piercing), and we live in a developement with a BIG problem neighbor. well today, she has just gone toooo far! we were informed from a number of people that our house is going to be raided, because we have a meth lab! I DONT EVEN KNOW WHAT METH LOOKS LIKE!! i work 40 or more hours a week all times of the day, and my only vices are smoking cigarettes, and drinking a cold one now and again. this isnt the only time she has called the cops on us, she did so last year when there were 3 cars in our drive way, while some of our friends were with us watching tv, and drinking. everyone was over 21, the cops were bothered by a bogus call and left. is there a way to get her for harassment and deformation of character, since we are now the new talk of the town, since i guess im a pretty good chemist, which i didnt know about!

sorry defamation. didnt know how it was spelled. and im kinda still upset about it. all our neighbors know us and like us, shes the only one that causes problems. shes done it before with the gay couple across the street.

Go down to the Police Station, tell them your issue. Invite them to have a look around, Ask them to please disregard future pesterings by your problem neighbor.

I feel your pain hun, I lived in a highly family oreinted neighborhood. My ex and I bought the worst, run down house on the street to fix it up. I already owned a nice house which I had sold to get into real estate, and bought this one. It wasnt even that bad. It just was slightly worse than the others. It was right next to a elemetary school, and a BUNCH of nosey no good neighbors. I dress very nicely, I work as a manager of a animal shelter, my ex was a telecomunications salesmen. We both were working 40+ hours a week. We were working on the inside of the house on the weekends. I have about 7 dogs at the time and my large yard was fenced with a beware of dog signs. I own a Cane Corso/Pitt mix that I rescued. I also have rescued snakes. I would raise and breed mice with a special diet for the snakes. Occasionally I sold to people I know for there snakes. WELL it just happens that there are some strange people that like snakes. I had all kinds of people coming to the house. Harley Bike riders, one client was into fixing up vintage roadsters and race cars and he has some loud flashy vehicles, I had some goth clients, and one of them was on her way to a club night when she stopped in for a visit. She was in Purple black long pigtails, and a school girl outfit that would make a prostitute blush. I found it hilarious. One dude raised Boas, he was an ex proffesional wresler. HUGE boy, bald, leather, handle bar mustache. Tough looking boy with a hug that crushed your spine. Anyway about 3 weeks into the move we get cops all over the house, they were told we were a Meth lab, and selling cocaine on our front porch? WHAT THE HELL??? funny thing is I worked with ALL these men at my job, I gave them the grand tour and asked them if they wanted any meth for the ride home. They laughed. I know they were just doing there job.
The a week later again I get a call from the one officer asking if I was selling Meth again. I rolled my eyes. I told him to tell who ever is complaining to stop it.
After a 3rd complaint, I finally went up and down the street and I talked to every one, if they werent home or didnt answer I had written my life history, what were doing there, who my clients were, and if they were in any need of animals to come straight to me. I also mention if anyone was intrested in meth to go 2 blocks up and 5 house in on the right.... that would be the best chance to find some since I DONT sell the stuff. SHEESH... i never did find out who my nemis was but who cares. I moved from there now after getting the house fixed I live in the country.

She can be charged with the crime of filing a false complaint/police report, IF the police or prosecutor decide to pursue the matter. But since you don't have a meth lab, I'm sure they won't. You should go to the police and tell them that this woman is making false charges against you.

What you can do is get a temporary restraining order against them. File a police report, then if they try to call the police for a bogus issue you can have them arrested for violating the restraining order.

first of all police cannot just "raid" a place because of one persons say so. a lot of investigating goes on that you would not even be aware of and they would find the report unfounded if nothing is going on. the police will eventually catch on to this nut but unfortunately people can report "suspicious" activity all they want

I feel your anger I suggest you file a complaint for harassment against her with the police this will cover your a** any time the police comes over your house for unknown reasons.

I have never heard of someone's character being deformed. Surely you mean defamed, defamation of character...
Don't worry about it; it will blow over. You've got to know that blue hair and strange piercings only attract attention, right?
