Anyway, there is not a uniform for the president to wear. A little $2 pin is not indicative of someone's pride in their country. Presidents didn't use to wear them ever, at all. I always thought they were kind of tacky, anyway. Do you see Hillary wearing one? No... Get over yourself, it's not that big of a deal, and certainly not a deal-breaker for him getting elected or not. Look at his position on the important issues, not if he is wearing a pin or not!

What a candidate says--concrete proposals and positions--are more important.
And--here's a heads -up. I have such a pin--so do a lot of Americans. But like a lot of people, I won't wear it anymore. Why? Because that particular custom has become identified with the right wing fakes who think wearing a pin makes up for their lack of patriotism and intolerance of other's opinions. It doesn't.
And I have way too much self-respect to want to be identified with that unpatriotic trash. I imagine Obama feels the same way. Good. That's a point in his favor.

All I can say is if YOU want to wear an American Flag lapel pin..Just Wear Em. Anytime you can, it provokes thought as to what the Stars and Stripes Stand For. Veterans Day is just around the corner, dont forget to wear your US Flag pin.
Or do forget, its your choice, this is a free country. Maybe wearing the Flag reminds us of that.

I am one of the most anti-Obama, anti-democrat, anti-liberals out there, but him not wearing a flag pin is nowhere close to an issue for me.
I do not think one needs pins, t-shirts, bumper stickers, or any of that stuff to have strong beliefs in their country.
I love my country, I spent 10 years in the military and I am now a police officer, and I don't like wearing stuff like that either.
That's the beauty of this country, you don't have to wear things you don't want to.

It's only been a few years since they amended the US Flag Code to *permit* the wearing of flag pins; you think it should be mandatory?
Many police officers started wearing a US Flag on their uniform in the 1960s, even though it was a violation of federal law. Flag pins started being produced for the retail market at that time.
The Code prohibited wearing the flag as part of your clothing, as that was disrespectful of the flag. They've legalized the practice, as indeed, it should not be a criminal offense, but it's still disrespectful.

It's a non issue. The only thing more meaningless would be politicians who wear a pin for no other reason than they do not want to appear un-patriotic.

Not really it's just a pin. A man's actions and words are more important than what fashion accessories he wears or doesn't wear.
