We read that Kate and Gerry McCann remain the MAIN SUSPECTS in the case of the disappearance of their own daughter. This confirmation did not come from some leaking Police minnow via '24 Horas' but were the words of Portugals Top Police Officer Alipio Ribeiro.

Tommorow brings new DNA evidence from the forensics labs in Birmingham so the Portuguese may well have enough evidence by the weekend to consider bringing charges.

Is it time for Kate and Gerry to stop fooling around wasting time and money on distractions for media PR purposes and 'come clean' as to what REALLY happened to Madeleine McCann on the night of 3rd May 2007 ?

It's nice to hear something directly from the PJ, and it makes it official, so no one can say it is speculation. On the subject of the DNA, let's see what the results are before anyone proclaims them innocent or guilty. Whichever way this goes, I will still pray for Madeleine, and I hope that these results give us new information which will help find out what really happened to that poor girl.

I think they have done both. They helped by making it known, but I think it became too well-known, if you get what I mean. All this publicity, especially the attention to the eye, means that the abductor will not take her outside for fear of her being recognised, so she will either be held inside, or the abductor has had his evil way, and has killed her. Everyone is on the lookout for her, which will increase the caution of the kidnapper. I think that they helped by making the public aware of her, but they hindered it by exposing it so much that the kidnapper won't let her outside, so there is less chance of her being found. I just hope and pray that she is found safe and well.

I am actually wondering what is coming next. I understand one of the High Profile Solicitors involved is an Extradition Expert so he will be in action to prevent the Portuguese from extraditing them from this Country. Then I expect one of the new Funds to be put into operation - fast. As Gerry was blocked, to everyone's surprise from getting his hands on the 'Fund' he will be putting plans into operation to get more money, either a bigger push in the new 'Find Madeleine Fund', which I am not sure even got off the ground but more likely a 'We are Innocent Fund'. Watch this space.

I agree with you. There is something in the look of the eyes and body language of these two people that just does not look right.
Do you remember the case involving Maxine Carr? I forget the guys name and the poor child involved but I remember photos of them (Carr and partner) that had exactly the same look in their eyes. A thousand yard stare, looking right through everyone without seeing them.
Of course I may be completely wrong. In which case I appologise unreservedly for my comments.

As I understand it, they've been official suspects for a little while now. But that means something different in Spanish courts.
From what I remember of the newscasts a week or so ago, being made an official suspect gives you more rights and police and prosecutors more latitude with their investigation.

Yes, they should should make it easier on themselves, but i believe there are several people involvesd in this, and if one cracks they will all topple like stacked dominoes.

My main concern is where clarence is going to get work from when this happens.
