Take note!!.. how many of these scowls come from the younger set of women. ?? I think that the younger ladies of society have somehow been brain washed into thinking that there is something wrong for a man to open a door or what ever for a woman. The rest of the general public appreciate the favour and very often the women will in kind open the door for a man especially if they see a person with arms laden with parcels, or a cane or wheelchair is involved..it is a matter of kindness and caring about your neighbors, not if anyone is male or female...let's face it gang we all could use a helping hand now and then...

Unfortunately, it's because they're not used to it! I grew up in Texas, and if there's one thing a cowboy is good for...it's his manners. So I'm offended when a guy DOESN'T open a door for me (I moved to Florida). That being said, I hold doors open for guys, girls, old people....it's just a nicety. It's just a shame that, like previously stated, younger girls (from places other than Texas :) aren't used to it...sad, sad day.

Maybe they're surprised, or just suspicious. When a guy opens a door for me I smile and say thank you, so don't think it's wrong or anything.
