I'm assuming your winters are warm.
Astilbe
Hosta (would probably work in a container)
Impatiens
Begonias
Perennial Phlox

Tomatoes, maximum herbs (cilantro, basil, oregano, rosemary), bell peppers and maximum sorts of warm peppers might want to be grown in pots- both commence from seeds or purchase small flora. i have grown all those in pots myself plus I actual have all started carrots and radishes from seed in deeper pots. you are able to also sow slightly loose leaf lettuce or mescalun blend in sturdy sized pots for salad. you do not want a fancy pot. i have seen someone advance tomatoes by utilizing making a hollow interior the accurate of a bag of potting soil and sticking a tomato plant into the bag. Pots can dry placed immediately so that you're going to need to water in many circumstances -probable on a daily basis even as this is warm. larger pots stay moist longer. sunlight for decrease than area of the day is okay for most vegetables- you in worry-free words get extremely a lot less yield. in case you never have sunlight on the patio, then you would possibly want to need to grant then some sunlight elsewhere or use a advance lamp. we've grown all lots of those on a sunny windowsill too, extraordinarily the herbs. sturdy success.

a rule of thumb, if u can grow a tomatoe plant there then u can grow yr pot plant there, meanin most budding plants need red light( sunlight) for atleast 8hrs a day.
