What about people who write songs? Many say the songs came quickly in their heads or they "heard" the lyrics or music..they usually say it's a Muse. What's the difference? These people get honored for their music, while others are called crazy. Even many Christian songs were written this way.(ex. "And I'll Rise Again" was written in less than 10 min..and it "came to him".) Please explain. (If you want to make fun or criticize etc..please go to the R&S site..they love to play that game. That's why I (and many others ) left it.

FYI There are people who say they hear "voices" outloud (when no one is there)&there are people (song writers etc.) who say they hear words/voices in loud thoughts. I think earplugs wouldn't help either of the groups.

Just because you don't have evidence doesn't mean that others don't have evidence. I have evidence. I wouldn't believe it either unless things had happened to me..so I really can't criticize you for not believing. because nothings has happened to you. But I need to hear from people who have had similar experiences. BTW...LOTS of people have left R&S because of the fighting.(and yes, I have "evidence" of this.)lol

I can hear music in my head 24/7 and always have. Sounds of everyday life get me going on a musical tangent and then I start to daydream (if appropriate time is available) and then the music will be more lucid as I get deeper into a daydream state. I think that this is normal for musicians. When I hear paranormal voices that is more like a thought that is in my brain suddenly and completely, not at all the same as the music. I will tell you this though, I have written atleast 2 songs that Elton John wrote, years before they ever came to play.. of course, mine were not as good, nor were the lyrics the same(not my strong suit) but they were so similar that I would find myself singing along with it on the radio the first day it got air-play , I'd sing on top of my lungs (like a schmuck) and then there would be a point where the song would go in a completely different direction, then I would say to myself, why do I think that this song goes here instead of where it is going, so I'd listen and realize that the lyrics that I am singing are totally different.... then it would dawn on me that I had written most of that very same song years earlier....
People laugh at me when I say it, but it's true. Of course I do not think that they stole the song from me, after all who am I???? No one. LOL. So I think that there are tunes and ideas (inventions ) that are put out there for poeple to be receptive to and may the best man win. When Einstien was deveoping the H-Bomb and splitting atoms there were atleast 3 other scientists at that same time developing something along that very same wave length.... Einstein won. This has occured through out history and with all inventions.

The people who say they hear voices have an imbalance in the way thoughts are perceived within themself. It has nothing to do with when people write a piece of music in "record time" and what not. 10 minutes is imo the average amount of time to write a song, if it takes u any longer it probably isn't coming from the heart!
Besides, most Christian music are basically direct carbon copies of parts of the bible... Or, ideas that others have basically fed into us.
I dunno, I write songs and I'm not crazy. They also don't really take long to compose, and I don't even write God songs.

People who write songs don't hear voices. They may create melodies and lyrics in their heads because they are imagining them on purpose. A person who hears people who are not present talking to him is experiencing this involuntarily. If the latter occurs it's involuntary and this is where the problem lies.
You left R&S because you are unwilling to listen to people criticize your beliefs. This place is going to be no different. If you choose to adhere to belief systems that is supported by no evidence then you really don't have a leg to stand on. Such publicly-aired views are subject to scrutiny.

when you hear a voice out loud, there is a mechanical means by which someone or something communicates with you, thus everyone around you can hear it. Hearing voices in your head is a mental condition. Not to say your crazy, but rather, your brain is manufacturing voices. I.E. writing a song.

You hear voices, like someone was talking to you from a different room or something. Thoughts are just... thoughts. If your are talking about schizophrenia, they usually hear voices and have delusions. They listen to their voices because they think it is God or neighbors or w/e telling them to do things. I have a schizo brother and he is a total nutcase.

Wear earplugs and it Will rule out the outside influence and you will know it is coming from within.
The only difference is in you discerning the difference and not getting them confused

The former can be a symptom of hearing problems or neurological problems (or noisy neighbors!), while the latter may only be a product of a creative and healthy imagination.
