This person is supposedly a public servant, If this person is so sue happy,I'm surprised she hasn't sued someone for calling her a "b*tch" or for bumping into her at a public function.......What a sad thing for the family to be going through...and the to have someone who's job it is to "Protect & Serve" turn around and sue them for having water on the floor......IT WAS A DROWNING!!!!!!Gee woulden't you think water would be involved???? I hope the family will survive this travisty, and if this makes to court I hope the judge has enough since to throw it out!!!!!!! GOD BLESS the family!!! and see ya in hell to the pig!! I hate the term pig but for her it sounds fitting!!!!!

Sure they can claim for the injury sustained in the line of duty, but having dragged a toddler from a pond / pool of course there will be water.
This "Sue sue sue" attitude in the USA is getting stupid . . . any country where you can WIN $000s for coffee being hot, and spilling it while driving needs to look at it's legislation again.
IF the family had knowingly spilled water with the intention to cause harm, YES sue them, in a family tragedy like this, then charge the cop with wasting court time. The ONLY winners in cases like these are the lawyers with their fat fees

I don't feel she is dedicated to her job. Her main concern should have been the well being of the child and the family. Her insurance coverage at work would cover her injury.

I cant stand cops they think they can do anything cause of that little badge. She should be thinking about what that child is going through and be thankful she can still have a normal life.

My thoughts are....just cause you can sue doesn't mean you should.
Hmmm..".my child just nearly drowned and needs medical attention immediately...oh wait..let me clean up that puddle so no one slips first..." is NOT a normal train of thought for any parent.

I personally think she should sue the city for more compensation. She'd probably even have the support of the family as she injured herself helping there son.

I think she is an idiot. She will be compensated for injuries received while on duty.
