When you are doing an inequalitie when do you switch the sign.
p – 7 > -5

you only ever switch the sign if you multiply or divide by a negative number
So in your example, since you never multiply or divide to solve it you would not switch the sign.

every time you move a number or variable on the other side of the equation.
p - 7 > -5
or p > 7 - 5 (see the sign of 7 changed)
or p > 2

It appears there's a confusion as to what exactly you are asking.... I'm not quite sure either.

If you are asking when to switch the inequality sign, then the answre is when you divide sides by negative numbers.

If you are asking when to switch the plus/negative sign, then the answer is when you cross the inequality sign. Note, this rule is true even if no inequalities are involved.

Its simple
Just p-7>-5
then +7 +7
p>2

just add seven to both sides to get "p" by itself and your answer will be p>2.
