We'd better. Because if we do not, then sooner or later people will awake from this trance and realize that the rights we bled for, the rights millions of us died to achieve, are gone, and that we have been reduced to an intolerable form of slavery.
Oh yes, slavery with anesthetics, with mood-altering drugs, and toys, all the bread and circuses we could wish for, but slavery nonetheless. Privacy a thing of the past. Freedom from torture no longer assured.
I am beyond horrified. These are the consequences for failing to educate our children properly.

The Market has spoken, the market is not some magical Genie. It reflects what we've done. China has a big economy, and people make China seem so much more hefty then it really is. China has a lot of money all in Dollars, so if they stop trade with the US the value of the US Dollar will take a dive. So if China had 1 Million US dollars (I know its more but for simplicity's sake) it would become half a million Dollars. China is no key. I am Chinese and am saying this. The Global economy is very American-centralized. So we can fix the American economy by stopping "stimulus plans" The Market is no game, it weeds out competition, right now its telling US many companies are not fit. We let the recession take place, without increasing taxes on importations. Once the US begins to grow the world will follow, they will start to buy from China(as well as from Europe and India) again. Everyone will generally start to grow. It is not a Crisis the market is doing what it does best, this is Capitalism at its peak. You compete for the Market. Stop freaking out, some money may be needed as a stimulus but I don't see a reason to stop the global economy with tariffs. It shouldn't be ignored. Half the reason we're doing so bad is because the Media turns everything into a soap opera. JUST LEAVE IT BE, the market will correct itself. Maybe with a few companies gone, but the world is functionally capitalist. So stop panicking and brace yourself for a few rough years. Let the faulted companies go down.

Yes and yes there is a peaceful way. It will not and it can not be easy. The powers that control everything now will not go away and give up their profits easily and will use anything in their power to prevent real change.Considering they control everything it will be very hard but citizens could start to communicate and organize on their own without media and political interference.
When the majority of the people decide enough is enough no elite can survive
I'm not optimistic. The artificial divides that the men behind the curtain exploit to distract the public form the real issue's seem very deep in America. People feel very passionate about non issue's that will prevent them coming together with their fellow Americans who have another opinion about that particular non issue.
Is it needed and is it possible peacefully? Yes. Is it likely? Not at all I fear

I see people on here talk about doing something to change the course all the time. One thing is for sure it won't be a revolution like the original, it will be more of a refusal too cooperate kinda thing I think, who knows, but you can't fight the Army, they have to many guns. But when people finally get fed up and just refuse to do it anymore it will happen, and then we can have a rebirth and clean house, and really no violence is needed but I guess first people need to decide what they want out of the system. To me local stuff is cool and running smooth but the federal level is a mess and the money getting involved like it has is sad to see after what this country was founded on.

Well, the reason is simple! Corporations are enslaving peoples so they can't have time or will to protest! It is why the US is one of the few places on Earth, where peoples work over 40hours a week! Compare this with Europe where even big CEO don't even work more than 52hours per week (here its more like 70). So this make peoples less energetic to protest, especially, when they are preocupied by invoices to pay, and credit cards payments (house ect...).
So now you know why its almost impossible to act together! This indivualism schemes is to split our families union, and our potential of protesting... All in the name of a self-enslavering system, that produced virtual money with no solid value (it makes sense, as our ressources are very limited on this planet, so if money become virtual and can be produced indifinelty, then it allows them to ensnare peoples into such cycle of civil obedience, as we obey the corporate one!
So the only way to break the wheel its to break the corporate obediance first, then the rest will follow!

I just ran across this question and I think the people evolting is he way to go. In other countries if the people don't agree with the government they seem to care a lot and start a revolution or protest. Not an American protest with 100 people, but the whole country stands up. If we do that here, maybe they will see we are not afraid of them and want what we deserve and want.
American politicians have put fear in the American mind to make us think twice about doing or showing what we believe.

This may be a lame idea but if it really got bad we could all just not go to work for a few days. Shut down the entire apparatus.
Violent revolution is plainly a very bad idea period. All that ends up happening is chaos and many dead people. Cops with families, protesters with families and the end result is lots of families without loved ones.
If we simply said screw the establishment and as a single voice said give us our constitution back or we simply arent working that would do the trick.

The process has already begun like a skin eating bacteria. One very resistant to any form of antibacterial( meditation sic) treatment. The government doesn't need to be "overthrown" for the have sickened themselves to the point they are dying at a rapid pace NOW. All we do now is wait and be prepared for the aftermath. Like all dead carcasses, it's going to stick around here for a long long time. I hope we have plenty of LIME!

Yes. Peaceful revolutions have worked before. Gahndi? MLK Junior? They were peaceful, and they changed their respective countries.
Hippies tried it in the 60's, but they died when they got into drugs and crime. Oh, but it was a glorious attempt!
Corporations are parasites; their power comes from us, whether we know it or not. So, we have the true power and their only way to make all that money is by dividing and conquer. Make us not see who we are, and what WE can do.
Remember, Egypt made the pyramids with just rope, sand, and water.

You need two things: Cooperation/Organization and non-apathetic citizens and I'm afraid you won't find too many.
We all talk, but that's all we do. We are all sick of the way things have gone , but who is the first to stand up and be counted? And DO something?
