To set colors in colored items, soak them for an hour in a mix of 1/2 cup vinegar, 1/2 tablespoon of salt, and 1/2 gallon of water. If the rinse water shows color after an hour, repeat the process. Use this technique only for single-colored items, because multi-colored items may bleed into each other. Multicolored items will likely need to be dry-cleaned.:)

the suited element to do is wash the clothing interior-out in chilly water and in a sprint laundry/undergarment mesh bag. additionally use an extremely gentle detergent or a detergent made for dark clothing. do no longer dry them interior the dryer; grasp them as much as dry quite. And basically wash them whilst mandatory - so no longer after each time you place on them. Doing all those issues will keep them from fading immediately.

Ive heard it does. But also flip your clothing inside out and wash, it will still get clean and Heloise once said its the rubbing of the fabric that causes the fading too.

All salt does is soften the water, which will clean your clothes better and rinse them better. That's the reason you use salt; by itself it won't keep clothes from fading, but it will get out all the detergent.

Yes...salt helps set in colors. Just make sure you don't pure it onto the clothes...it will also pull out colors where it sits on them. Fill washer to low setting and add salt before your clothes...let it dissolve and then add clothes and reset water level to proper setting.
