I have a friend who is looking to become a member of the DGA (Director's Guild)... he's got a lot of different credits to his name (IMDB, etc) but we need to figure out the exact regulations/requirements for getting him into the DGA... does anyone know? Someone told me something about showing that he's been a PA and a AD...which I wasn't sure about...????

In order to be an ADGA judge you need to be a member and take not only the training but also a couple of different tests(you will need to know the Hsndbook very very well!. You can find out the information on the ADGA site and go from there, if not then you should contact the office by fax, mail, or email.

You need 1500 hours' experience on DGA signatory movies or TV shows. The catch-22 is that you have to be in the union to get the jobs, but you can't get the jobs unless you're in the union. Crazy biz, but that's the way it is.
