I live in the BASQUE COUNTRY.

Thankfully yesterday`s bomb didn`t kill anyone, but the bodyguard was seriously injured.

I don`t know how much people know about the situation here, but this is the only democracy in Europe where politicians have to have 24 hour bodyguards. And when I say politicians I mean town councillors too. Ordinary people who stood for local election. I work in a school and three of the children come to school accompanied by bodyguards because their mum or dad is a local councillor. The situation had calmed over the last few years , but E.T.A. has reactivated recently. They are scum and don`t have the backing of the Basque people. They are very few in number , but incredibly dangerous and bloody. The Basque country has great autonomy within the Spanish state and a high standard of living.
The ideology of E.T.A. is reviled by the people.

Why haven`t the U.S. A attacked E.TA.? The answer is simple Kamran, we have no oil reserves here.

Catch you later kamran. Glad you made your last posting - I didnt think you could get aljazeera over here. I could get it on sky until not long after 9/11. Hmm I wonder why that is.

EDIT

The answer above was probably the best answer Ihave ever read the whole time I've been on answers. I'm one of those people who go through life supposing I'll hear about these things on the news. Its quite a jolt when I find out otherwise.

provide the Basques a chew of Spain and France to call their own, already. comparable component is going for the Kurds contained in the middle East and the Rom people who're fairly plenty unfolded throughout. If the UN ought to easily make up the state of Israel in 1947, they are able to do the comparable for different oppressed, displaced peoples.
