Actually it depends on the context. If you're saying "Mike and I are going to the store," then Mike and I is correct, but if you were to say, "This is a picture of Mike and I" that would be incorrect. It is actually - "This is a picture of Mike and me" or "This is a picture of me and Mike."

Here's a tip: When you aren't sure, just take out the "other person" in the sentence. In this case it is Mike.

Would you ever say, "This is a picture of I"? No, you'd say "This is a picture of me" That's how you know it should be "This is a picture of Mike and me"

Now, would you say "Me is going to the store?" No. You would say "I am going to the store". Therefore, in this sentence, when you add Mike, it is "Mike and I are going to the store."

Make sense? I hope so. Those other responders are incorrect. :)

Depends on the context. If you were, for example, going somewhere, then you could say 'Mike and I went to the movies.' You can tell that this is correct usage by imagining that you went alone and so remove the 'Mike and' bit. You are then left with 'I went to the movies.' If you had used 'me' then the sentence would be 'Me went to the movies.' which doesn't make sense.

However if something happened to you like you were receiving something you could say 'Dad gave me and Mike a ride in his new car.' Leave out the 'and Mike' this time and it's 'Dad gave me a ride in his new car.' If you'd used 'I' there it would say 'Dad gave I a ride in his new car.' Again, it doesn't make sense. It's just a question of using both words in the right context.

Either I and Mike or Mike and I are acceptable. It is easy to figure out. Just remove Mike from the sentence and place the one that would still make it a sentence. Me ..... would not make a sentence alone, but I... would.

Mike and I. It is a very common mistake in English to say "me and Mike", which is probably what's confusing you.
