To simplify just combine like terms!
a) 15p - 12 - 7p + 3
Just combine the numbers and the P's
Answer) 8p-8 to simplify further you could factor out an 8 so you could get 8(p-1)
B) Combine the S's, the T's and the numbers
C) Same thing!
D) If I understand what you've written it is just 15abc
E) Shouldn't Simplify
F) Combine your like Terms again!
I'll let you do B, C and F. Just remember that you can only combine like terms.

Expand. Just Distribute the outside factor into each other. Remember to distribute the entire term!
G) 5(7x + 8) Take your 5 and multiply it to each term. The answer should be 35x + 40.
H) The same thing!
I) Just remember to multiply your A as well. So you will end up with A^2 in the first term and A in the second term. Don't forget to distribute your 3 also.
J) The same as (i) but remember to distribute all three items, the negative, the ten and the x!

Hope this helps without doing them all for you!

OK, on the first group of questions, they are asking you to simplify or to write it in the simplest terms. Tod do this, you solve as much of the eaquation as you can without determining the value of x (or p,s,t,whatever term they use). I'll use the first as an example for you...
a)15p-12-7p+3 can also be written as 15p-7p-12+3 (you are grouping like terms together)
now solve what you can 15p-7p=8p; -12+3= -9 (remember to keep the sign (= or -)with the number so you get the correct value)
and you are left with 8p-9 for your answer
For d-f, you are multiplying so you don't have to group like terms, you can just multiply them
e) 7y x 4w= multiply the two numbers 7 x 4 = 28 and place the product in front of the two unknown values for an answer of 28yw

For g-j you are simply multiplying the outer term by all of the inner terms
g) 5 * 7x + 5 * 8 or 35x+40 remember that when you are solving i and j that you are multiplying both the number and the unknown so 3a * 2a will give you 6a^2 (or 6a squared)

Hope that helps without doing all the work for you!

a) 15p - 12 - 7p + 3 = 8p-9
b) 8s + 8 + 3t - 5 -10s +7t = -2s +3 +10t
c) 7x + 2y - 4z + 3x - 5y - 2z =10x -3y -6z
d) 15 x a x b x c =15abc
e) 7y x 4w=28wy
f) 7p x -2q x 3q -42pq^2
g) 5(7x + 8 ) = 35x+40
h) 8(s + 3t - 5 ) = 8s+24t -40
i) 3a( 2a+7 ) = 6a^2 +21a
j) -10x( 2x + 5 ) = -20x^2 -50x

combine like tearms so the first part a is

15p - 12 - 7p + 3
15p+ -12 + -7p + 3
-9 + 8p

try and do the rest not that hard though

Just add th like terms together.

a) 8p - 9
b) -2s + 10t + 3
c)10x - 3y - 6z
d) 15abc asuming the x is multiplying and not a variable
e) 28yw
f) -42 pq^2 (^2 means that letter is squared)
g) 35x + 40
h) 8s + 24t - 40
i) 6a^2 + 21a
j) -20x^2 - 50

I could tell you the answers, but I can't really explain how to get then. I guess that's why I'm not a teacher :). I know you probably don't want to waste your you time staying after school or class, but asking the teacher one on one would probably work best. I did have one teacher that I couldn't communicate well with in H.S., I'd just ask one of the other math teachers or the physics teacher to help me instead.

i cant do the top ones.
but as for the others:
eg. g) times 5 by 7 and 8 by 7. this would equal 35x + 40.
and thats how you do it!
just times the number outside the brackets by the numbers inside the brackets. its simple!
hope this helps!
