Allow me to ellaborate. Now we have metal detectors in schools, new DVD's that take a half hour to get to because of all the security labels, having to sign a form to buy certain cold medications. There are many more things to note and I welcome your examples if you answer. Anyway, peace-

I think the central issue is that our society stopped holding individuals accountable and responsible for illegal or immoral behavior. Given the propensity for individuals to sue, it is easier to impose group consequences upon society as a whole than to hold the individual responsible. If you analyze most of these situations, the actions are conducted by a very small minority but effect the vast majority.

We all are to the extent that we are affected negatively by the changes. As some teachers used to say--'a few have spoiled it for the many'--meaning that we all pay the price for what only a few members of our society have done that is illegal or immoral or unjust.

With respect to the invasion of privacy changes, these are a new creation as a result of the decisions of the Bush administration after 9/ll and the creation of the U.S. Patriot Act. Various states and municipalities have decided to enact or veto their own privacy invasive policies, as have certain businesses. This would be a large scale exception to the above.

Punishment is the result of judgement that one is guilty of some wrongdoing. I feel negatively impacted by the wrondoings of others, but I see it as an inconvenience, not as a punishment.

repeat DWI offenders cause police to automatically incarcerate anyone admitting to having had a drink, reguardless of amount. How about I just walk home and come get my car in the morning officer?

Those I can agree with, but the more insulting punishment inflicted on decent people are things like welfare, social security, and other subsidies, stemming from the egos of idiotic, fundamental socialists; Clinton, Obama, to name a few.
