Candlelight dinner with wine... good conversation with some laughter and sweet smiles... A walk hand in hand through a park or on a beach to watch the sunset....

A romantic dinner date, 2 Options:

1. Person A goes out there way to make dinner for person B. Usually work better if A is the guy and doesn't really know how to cook. Dinner may be terrible but there are potentially big brownie points to be earned in the cute and effort columns.

2. I don't think the type of food really matters. I think what's more important is ambiance. The place has to have something about it. Live music maybe? Or near somewhere there is beautiful scenery. More importantly, you should be able to talk to each other but still feel like no one can listen. So some noise but not too much. Finally regardless of where you go for dinner or what you have, the only detail that matters is that later the only thing the person will remember about the dinner is you.

Here's one that can be done anywhere, any season, and just for something different.....

A homemade dinner, that's simple but tasty. Spread over a homemade table cloth (like a sheet), that you self decorate. Adding a special theme or other ideas. Then in amongst that selection add comments of things you like about the person your having to dinner. Let them keep the table cloth as a keep sake after.

You can also add a bouquet of flowers. 11 real flowers and 1 fake of of the same type. Then add a little note saying I'll love you till the last one dies......given this is the situation and feeling.

I know someone who did the first and the second I read somewhere.

Something I'd like in the summer is a evening fishing on a private pond, lake or creek, then making a fire and cooking a nice dinner on it out in the wilderness then maybe a nice walk after.

Or, a afternoon canoeing, then stopping to build a fire to cook dinner, then canoeing back.

In the winter, maybe one of those hottub cubicle things. they are ceilingless rooms that have a private hottub int hem. Some include things like a mini bar or fireplace. Could also drink hot coco. Maybe go ice skating and end it here.

Or maybe go toboganing, and then have a big warm fire and coco. Sleighs rides are romatic. maybe a sleighride to dinner and back?

McDonalds isn't romantic. Its a place you eat when you are starved and there is nothing else!!!!

McDonald's and Wal-Mart? Are you a hillbilly? A nice restaurant, whatever is local for you, Italian restaurants are always good, Olive Garden is always a good choice if you don't have a local upscale Italian place, or a nice steak place is always good, TGI Fridays, Applebees, or someplace like that.
Afterwards if the dinner went well, then a nice drive through the park, by the lake, ocean, whatever is near by.
Museums are always good, Art Galleries, or if youy are both huge sports fans, then a game is very good(depending on where you live).
Dancing is always the best way to end the evening, if you can't get into the club, improvise and make your own party by the water, or in the park, a small radio is all you need if the evening is going well.
Then when the evening is done, you say goodnight.

Ah, romance, it is truly romantic when a gentleman gives a lady flowers. That starts things off and then to a wonderful little out of the way Bistro where you can talk that special talk, drink a few glasses of wine, perhaps slow dance to an old standard and listen to smooth jazz as background. Italian restaurants are good for this. Brush hands, whisper softly to each other, being attentive and allowing the conversation to go wherever you choose. Sit close together, eat your fill and don't want anything that isn't offered. Hold hands in the moonlight while walking along the beach. Stay as long as she cares to. Do what comes naturally. Be sweet and enjoy each others scent, smile and flirts. Do not push the issue. Let things happen. Perfect date ends in a kiss that does not want to stop.

I'm someone who adapts to the environment. it really depends on the girl that i am with. if she is not comfortable in a certain environment it changes the mood of the entire date for the both of us.... but there are a few things that if the girl was into it would be cool. dang it!! you made me ramble. first date, want something more laid back and comfortable, just an average restaurant, then hit up somewhere fun, there's a piano bar out here that is amazing! there's also an old movie theater that has been turned into a live band venue and upstairs where the projector used to be is a place with couches and more mellow music where you can just hang out... i enjoy a much more fun environment, but yet intimate at the same time, over a sitting at a table talking across from each other type of place.

OK--it's romantic--but we'd also have to eat.
Casual, so we do not have to overdress,
and not too expensive so I'm impressive but
don't seem rash.

Let the lady pick the cuisine from two choices.
I then find a place that is not too loud,
not too far away, and with an attractive
color scheme, atmosphere, layout, decent
service, whatever.

I would never 'try a new place" if the
effect was supposed to matter to me--people
who do that are insane in my book. And I
would find a place to go first for a drink, and
check the menu out before I took the lady
there, to ensure affordability
and informed choices, if I did not already
know the place intimately.

I'd prefer to drive only because of the
wait for taxis; if she wanted to pick me up,
pay half, whatever, I'm not going to play
the chauvinist.

Call it dressy casual, but honestly
that's my idea of a great romantic date--
no pressure, a chance to get to know one
another better, keeping it simple and foolproof.

For me personally it's getting a sitter first lol... but the rest of this works for all (single or with kids). My husband and I are homebodies (which is good cuz it's cheaper that way) when we want to have a dinner date we usually pick up a movie and dinner from chiniese place. Then we eat dinner together in the living room on the floor over the coffee table with a few candels lit (I use the ones from our wedding tables that I still have left) and we enjoy each others company, talk about our week, and of coarse enjoy the food. Then we cuddle up on the couch together and watch the movie together.

My Idea of a romantic dinner date is a home cooked meal at the house with some wine or dinner out on the town. And later a moon lit walk.

A romantic dinner isnt McD's or Walmart shopping.
A nice dinner somewhere where you dont have to get a big mac is always a plus. A nice make out session after the dinner is always romantic to me. LOL but then again its been awhile since I had romance.
