I've done this before but now a have a problem. The water filled up and the comforter is wet but you don't see any water in the washer. The comforter is full of air and is floating! I smash it down into the water but it floats back to the top. What do I do?

It completly normal if there was no water it would not float.

Now you just add detergerent like Gain or Cheer make sure to set on Gentle.

Cold water for colors
Warm water for light colors and mild soil
Color Safe bleach if badly stain or oxi-clean
Hot water for whites

You can also set the water level to large for blanket.

in case you do not have a extensive sized front loading washer take the comforter to the laundrymat and use the double or triple loader machines-they're greater effective than sufficiently huge. If that's a down comforter, use a sparkling tennis ball or tennis shoe interior the dryer to get the feathers to fluff. I wash mine 3 to 4 situations a 300 and sixty 5 days. The duvets (the overlaying) I wash greater frequently.

Spin some of the water out, then refill it,holding the comforter under the water to make sure it is saturated. Then wash or soak as you have done before....Use a warmer water and see if that helps,I wash mine in Hot...

I do it the easy way. I drive down to my local laundromat and put it in the 'front' loading machine and it cleans it perfectly.

Buzzy

But, then again,. I have a California King Waterbed and the comforter is huge, so I need the super duty machine.

Put it to the 'spin' cycle; it will pull all the air out; then wash as usual. (I've had the same problem.) ;x
