my computer is an old one and takes forever to boot up when I turn in on.

if you want to save money and power, turn it off. If you don't want to be bothered with the entire boot cycle, then sleep it and only reboot every so often.

the pc remains technically on in sleep mode the climate are in a means saving state so as that they use much less electrical energy. Its additionally safer to close off the pc or placed it in hibernation mode because of the fact if there occurred to be a means surge or something the pc wont be on in any respect to be broken.

its better for your computer to leave it on but i wish i could say the same for the electric bill so i would put it in sleep mode !

i would leave it on (put it on standby). it also saves money for you, b/c everytime you press that power button it costs more electricity than just wiggling your mouse to get it started. thats what ive been doing for the past 2 years, and my bill definately went down, and my computer went a lil faster than usual, too.

I would leave it on then...and every once in a while reboot it.
