It seems to me that the bogus war on terror is eating a lot of taxdollars that could be better spent on America and taxpayer needs.

PFO,
Just where do you think the government is getting the money to bail out the banks that make the loans? From the taxpayer. I would rather my taxdollars be spent on that, than bombs to kill innocent Iraqis, or supplying Israel with 22 billion a year so that they can kill innocent Palestinians.

Huh? They are completely unrelated. Where is this idea coming from that the government should spend billions of dollars to help out people that paid more money than they could afford for their houses? I dont know about you, but if the government starts making mortgage payments on behalf of those people, then Ill be awfully tempted to stop paying my mortgage and let the government pay for it too. Get the idea now why its not a good thing to have the Government intervene in the "foreclosure crisis"?

Wait wait WAIT a second...............you're suggesting that if our government wasn't spending so much money on Iraq that instead they could be using the money to pay off the mortgages of all the people who signed up for sub-prime mortgages and interest only loans? You're kidding, right? I don't like all the high balances on my wife's credit cards or paying my mortgage either. Can I get a free handout from the government too? C'mon and be reasonable. People make bad financial decisions, lose their house, and it's the government's fault because we're spending money on the war in Iraq? Puh-leeeeeze!

Actually, it's not eating any tax dollars because we are borrowing the money from China. The government is bailing people out from mortgage problems, but this really isn't the best solution: for the government to pick up the slack for bad financial decisions.

Why would anyone in their right mind want to bale out the bankers who gave loans to uncreditworthy people. Let the banks eat their loses, they should not be made whole by the taxpayers.

The govt shouldn't bail out the "crisis".

Well, war or no war, I'm against bailing out stupid people who got loans that they're unable to repay.

Yes. Many of our problems could be... if only we weren't blowing billions we don't have to kill people who didn't attack us (until we arrived)....
