When we use a new device on our PC, we need its driver in our computer to run it. This is usually supplied by the vendor.

However, most of the vendors supplied Microsoft based drivers.

Where do we get Linux based drivers for the new devices we installed?

Most Linux distros have a fairly big driver database. PnP devices usually self-install if you plug them in once Linux is running. Otherwise go into the "configure my computer" routine that comes with the GNU or KDE desktops.

If none of these gives a solution, just run an internet search with the name of the device and "Linux". The chances are someone else has had and solved the problem.

Well, if you have a specific question, you say what the device is, and people might be able to better help you.

Barring that, when you are going to get a new xyz, do a google search on YOUR distro and xyz to see what works and what does not - and what other people did to make it work.

Or, you look at the "compatibility list" for your distro and make sure you only buy hardware that has passed and is on the list.
