My first guess would be faces since Bruno Sammartino had it for 7+ years. That is a tricky question because Randy Savage's first reign started as a face, but he turned heel when the Mega Powers exploded and that was near the end of his reign. How many other champions have switched from face to heel or vice versa? and what about tweeners from the Attitude era? I know it's easy to say Stone Cold was a face since he got huge pops, but he wasn't the stereotypical face. He was (and I say this in the NICEST way possible being a Stone Cold fan) a rebellious, beer drinking, potty-mouthed, self absorbed psycho who'd give his own grandmother a stunner is she crossed his path.

Very hard to be exact on this one as certain stars started out as Faces & then turned Heel.I can think of Stone Cold, HBK, The Rock & of course HHH who all turned back & forth during their reign.Even The Game turned heel straight after his match when he won the title.An educated guess would say the Faces have held the titles longer seeing how long HHH & Cena have had them.
