We have a political and economic system that people don't want to escape. We have the best political and economic system in the world, by far, no doubt, without question, nobody comes close.
Millions upon millions of people come here trying to find a better life. How many Americans leave the United States trying to find a better life? I don't see any mass exodus fleeing the USA.
Someone may not like certain politicians, but that doesn't mean the system is broken. Someone maybe a socialist, but that doesn't mean they can deny what a free market society has accomplished.
American history is filled with individuals who overcame poverty, poor education, poor standing in the community to achieve tremendous things. That history continues today.
If you, or anyone else, believes that the idea that anyone can be successful in this country is a "false philosophy" is dooming themselves to a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Since this question is listed under "Politics", I'll answer accordingly.
Our Political system is CONSTANTLY changing.
Out Economic system is changing CONSTANTLY.
Examples: Our first Republican President was Abraham Lincoln. His courage and integrity gave a huge boost to that party.
When he was elected there were six political parties involved in that election of 1860.
Now there are only two parties with significant power. Some falsely think that we have a two party system by law. That has never been true. The members of the Supreme Court have gradually altered the understanding of the Constitution and now most of the POWER is in the hands of the Federal Government. It used to be in the hands of the PEOPLE, and the States (and was much less expensive to operate).
That is Political change.
Economically we NOW have a Federal Reserve Bank. Originally it didn't exist. Banking was once a private enterprise. That was wisely changed, but may need improvement.
Another economic change is: Money used to HAVE TO BE backed by something REAL, like the Gold Standard.
That is no longer true.
There are many significant changes I could list, so I personally don't understand HOW that individual could have made his claim that the system can't be changed. It only requires a careful and wise examination of the changes needed, get agreement to make the change and institute it. If that person had some WILD ideas he wanted to institute and couldn't convince the general population of this nation it was wise, then he might foolishly THINK it can't be changed.

This is not true!
Success is simply when preparation meets opportunity. That is the essence of the American Dream. I like Amos' answer when he kept repeating "work more". How true that is. For a person who does just enough will they every achieve success? More than likely not. Look at some examples.
Mark Cuban, Billionaire-
Was a Bartender at one point then through hard work created Broadcast.com which was sold to Yahoo for 5.9 Billion dollars.
Bill Gate Billionaire-
I'm sure you know his story.
I just read a story about a girl who built a website that complemented Myspace.com She had to learn a basic programing language that was the basis for Myspace.com and find advertisers. After 2 years she is now a millionaire!
Two of my friends own Amzel Media which can be found at http://amzelmedia.com/ (shamless plug). This is a company on the cutting edge of Internet advertisement. They integrate video and audio elements into their customers websites and advertisements to maximize interaction and interest. They are not millionaires yet but their working on it!
All that I ask is that my government limit itself in order that I can continue to pursue my goals. The government should never grow too large that it minimizes opportunity for those of us who are willing to work for it. America has the highest concentrations of millionaires and billionaires and there is a reason why! That is what has made this country great and will continue to make it great!
Success is simply when preparation meets opportunity.

No, not true.
"Cannot Escape From or Change"
One can always leave (escape). Question is, why do people continue to come here ? Change... This is basically what we vote for every four years, change. Problem is, it takes time. It is a slow process to turn a country around. In this day and age, the people are too impatient. Expecting solutuions within half an hour.

I disagree. I've seen someone come from an uneducated background, who dropped out of High School, become a millionaire, through entrepreneurial stewardship.
I've heard more stories of the like.
It takes work to be successful. Right now the American People are not willing to do the work to be successful. They'd much rather recieve handouts, have other people take care of them.

Here's my "secret" to success:
Learn skills.
Mouth shut,ears open.
Work and work some more.
Work more.
Forget personal life, success of company is first and foremost.
Work more.
Please the bank, your lawyer, your accountant and yourself:in that order.
Know your company better than you know your family.
Be prepared for huge disappointments and setbacks.
Work more.
Never relax, never trust anyone except your banker and your lawyer.
Work more.
