It's really common, and has even been documented in the womb. You can ignore it, or if you think it is really frustrating baby, try burping and drinking.

Good luck!

I have a now 7 month old and he used to get hiccups really bad. I would give him a little water (nursery water) with a little sugar in it (just a tiny bit, don't want a hyper baby. lol). That or when we were out and I didn't have the sugar water available I would lay him over my legs and gently pat his back (sometimes that worked for us).

I babysat my cousin's six week old who constantly had the hiccups as well as acid reflux. I would just lay him across my lap, sometimes on his stomach and something on his back, and rub either his tummy or back slowly in an effort to calm him. When babies get the hiccups they cry even more and get very frustrated. It helps to do something calming, like rubbing them or patting them, to calm them down. Eventually the hiccups go away.

This worked for me every single time...I put water in a bottle, a tiny bit of sugar (or whatever sweetener you use, the point is to get the baby to want to drink it) and let her have an ounce or so. Stopped the hiccups every single time!!!

Am not sure if Americans believe in this culture but in Ghana, Africa when new born's get hiccups they normly cut a little piece of white thread and put it on the middle of their heads(top) it may look sillly but it works

Give them a bottle. It usually only takes 2 drinks and the hiccups are all gone.

Babies get hiccups for the same reason we do, swallowing to much air. Check for air in the bottle and make sure you burp the baby

You don't. The hiccups don't bother babies like they bother adults and it helps strengthen their diaphragm. Don't worry about the hiccups, it's not hurting the baby at all, only helping.

Try Little Tummy's Gripe Water. It works like magic.

this may sounds ridiculous, but it's very common in the phil.,try to pull a piece of thread from baby's dress and wet it with your own saliva and put it on baby's forehead.
