"McLaren face scrutiny over Alonso:
Formula One's governing body has stepped in to ensure McLaren give equal treatment to Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton at the Brazilian Grand Prix" (BBC website)

What is this sport coming to? I just can't see the usefulness of this type of interfereing. If there is any evidence AFTER the race that favouritism has been shown, then by all means investigate it. But to presume foul play before the fact? How is that helpful?

What does everyone else think?

i think it means any team that signs alonso better make sure that his team mate isn't competative, wich is kinda good for guys like luzzi or sultil, maybe this will get them in the door at a higher team,

but as for the fia stepping in i think it isnt their place to manage the internal politics of a team,

Gd question, Now i hope bernie and his bum chums read this.
We all know Bernie and half the FIA are english just like Hamilton, Bernie is so dearly wanting to see a english champion again that he will do anything in his power to stop anybody else ruining his plans. Two races ago the caught hamilton driving pretty dangerously infact he caused a accident with mark webber and co, If it was anybody else they would have been burnt to the floor, As for the spy scandal..... Drivers immunity??? As far as i know the only person who brought something to the table was alonso not hamilton so why was he spared hsi championship points??

Bernie has taken the formula one to a whole new level, he has trashed the sport completly, If any of the mclaren drivers win this years championship, it can not be taken seriously as that mclaren had so much ferrari in it!!!! Next season its gonna be different i hope hamiton finishes up in the wall where bernie will be sitting so they go share hospital beds and bernie can lick hamiltons a&% all he wants with no interuptions

Presume foul play? Simply, the FIA isn't presuming, they are just MAKING SURE.

A lot of people already know that lewis has been favored since alonso crashed in japan. Or maybe even since Alonso blackmailed McLaren, they started to favor lewis (I can't blame them, Alonso IS a j*rk).

Now if McLaren favored Lewis in Brazil, then the race for the championship will be a no-brainer as long as lewis finishes the race, meaning he SHOULD and WILL be in front of Alonso. If that happens and fans find out about it, there will be another controversy, and the FIA does not want that to happen because it will ruin their reputation again just like what barrichello and schumacher did before.

Yes I think the FIA have gone well overboard with this situation of scrutinising Mclaren and generally saying they might be favouring one driver more than another. If that was the case what do you say about the last Grand Prix in China where Lewis never finished the race as he became stuck in the gravel trap while coming into do his 2nd and last pit stop.

They want an FIA official present there especially for qualifying to make sure no one is tampering with the air pressure in Alonso's tires. They aren't investigating, they are only monitoring which is good for both Hamilton and Alonso.

Lets face it Hamilton is Ron's current golden boy and would without scrutiny be favoured.
It's happened at McLaren before and will to whoever has the bad luck to partner Hamilton next year.

I agree, what type of interfereing is this? It is beyond useless to investigate before the race. Besides if they find something, what are they gonna do? Nothing. Plus, do they honestly think someone might act out now that there's a guy inside watching over everybody.

You sound as if you are really stressed out? I know that feeling well. Try to have a relaxing bath or shower and keep calm. It will pass which is the main thing and once you are able to get on with your day, you will put it behind you and feel much better.

Fair play from McLaren you must be joking.
McLaren have never operated equality and never will.
At least if they are being watched it will be a help but a bit late.
