remember that cos^2 plus sin^2 =1 and that tan=sin/cos and cot = tan^-1 so no, I think that sin * cos is the inverse of tan (not cot) and is in it's simplified form

Well sin(2x)=2sin(x)cos(x)

So you can replace it with 0.5sin(2x)

But many people consider sin(x)cos(x) more simple than the other one.
