The "pro's" don't have the true facts to comment on. No one, not the pro's or the anti's know what happened to that sweet child. The "anti's spout vile hearsay, inuendo's, supposed leaks, untruths, rumours and just plain gossip. It must be very comforting for the McCann's to know that all the anti's know the truth before the rest of the world does. Oh, and by the way, I do watch tv and read the newpapers but I have a mind of my own and can make my own decisions.

i defend the mccanns because there is no evidence whatsoever to point to their guilt. there is only speculation and wild guesses .no dna evidence has been conclusive. no blood samples are actually real. if there was real evidence the police would be there arresting the parents
about the so called crime of neglect . the children were put to bed in a place that is child friendly. it was not a dangerous place. they mccanns believed the children were safe. ok it was an error, but, big but, they did not leave them thinking it was a bit dodgy but what the heck, we'll go any way. they thought they were doing the right thing. another thing often commented on is the fact that the mcanns are hard faced and uncaring. thats rubbish. they are visibly struggling to retain composure. they are stressed to the hilt. kate is at breaking point.

Innocent until proven guilty also. There's been too much inuendo, nasty, vile rumours, supposed leaks and just plain old gossip. There isn't enough evidence to charge the parents and mainly because they are innocent. I think they've been criticized unmercifully for everything that they do and don't do. They are suffering the worst possible punishment not knowing where their little angel is and what has happened to her. I just can't believe the garbage that I read in here and in the media about the case and don't know how the parents keep it together. I'd probably be in a padded cell by now if it were me going through this hell. If I were in their situation I would use whatever resources available and necessary to find my child. Why is that so wrong? All they want is their child returned home safely where she belongs.

I simply cannot believe any parent would, or could, concoct such a tangled story in such a short time. How could any parent keep up such a pretence knowing what they had done.Their acting skills would have needed ten years at RADA. Would any defence council take on such a case if they thought they would lose, and even the number two detective has ask to be off the career damaging case.

I'm not pro-McCann as such, because I think they are partly to blame for leaving the kids, but I'm definitely pro-innocent until proven guilty.
I just don't think any of the evidence we know of so far is enough to show they are involved in Madeleine's disappearance. Benefit of the doubt for now.
Edit: I find it interesting that I've answered this as a pro, but there are one or two very similar views to mine on the anti- side of this question.

I've given up answering questions on the McCanns but yes, consider me pro. Or at least, consider me as a fence sitter who hates the vicious attacks on the McCanns, while hoping that the child is safe and well and returned to her family.

Thanks, Bob, this is a great idea.
(I gave everyone a thumbs up to help counter to troll attack I see here, surprisingly they did not post anything so maybe we are going to be able to have a decent debate yet!)
While I think they are horrible parents, I do not find the "defendants, Kate & Gerry McCann" guilty at this time based on the evidence shown.
Court is in recess.
Bang! <- hitting my gavel..

Interestng that you're doing this. its something a bit differnt.
Ok well here goes, I'm pro because my initial feeling of sorrow for the family and of grave concern for Maddy has never gone away. As more and more speculation has been thrown about I have never once moved from that gut reaction.
I dont know what happened so I will not judge the family based on suppositions and I trust the police to do their jobs.
I believe to that often the speculation that happens in here is libelous. People scream for the right to freedom of speech on here but what about the right to liberty, justice and a fair trial. I cannot support a lynch mob mentality.
I cannot speculate myself about the details of events because the thought that the child is out there somewhere and that the family are aching for her is more of I priority for me. I would rather support them than ask them what the hell they were thinking.
I've believed from the start that a paedophile has probably taken her. Criminal profilers support this theory. I have worked for a child sex abuse charity and i dont think that an abduction like this is far fetched - in fact it is very likely.
There are lots more things that I could add - about how Jim Gamble (head of opperation orr - do a web search!) told them not to publicly show emotion, that people moaned for them to go home instead of staying in Portugal then moaned when they did return, lots and lots more.
Ultimately it's the though that Maddy is alive that makes me Pro Mcann.

Simply because I have yet to hear anything that makes sense enough to make them guilty. There are no logical explanations. There were 9 of them on holiday. Are they all going to lie?Would you lie about something like that?
The more I hear in the papers, the more I am convinced of their innocence. Why would they go to such extremes to highlight Madeleine's case if they were guilty?

Innocent until proven guilty and not guilty proven by speculations. It's all be run by the press which has been leaked by the PJ. Most people are quoting 24 Horas. 24 Horas I ask you? They then quote this as fact.
I can't see what you are trying to achieve by comparing the pro's to the anti's or vise versa? I've seen people jump from one side to another. It just depends how the questions are asked. Some can be very misleading. I know as I have done it myself just to dangle that worm. Believe me it works.
When some body can't think of anything else to say or they can't answer a question they start screaming Neglect.
At least the pro's want Maddie to be found or the search to continue until their in enough factual evidence to say otherwise.
We don't turn her disappearance in to jokes or place bets on Madeleine's head like some people do.
