fresh air is the best thing. formaldehyde is very toxic and shouldn't be used/worked with (in the case of a preserved specimen) without good ventilation. you really shouldn't be smelling it too much.

uuuurgh!! the smell from hell!! sorry i can`t answer that, but as far as i am told with formaldehyde being carcinogenic, if you can even smell it , you`ve been over exposed! i would seek medical advice.

I agree, ventilation is the only way. When the gas is gone, the smell will be gone.

Nothing... trust me... Don't try to spray stuff on top of it either, as this could be dangerous. Just open the windows.
