If you check your water temperature on the heater and all is well then look at your faucet. On many of the new faucets there is a plastic ring under the handle that prevents you from turning the water to full hot. Remove the handle and look for the ring IT will have a offset in it preventing you to turn the handle all the way to hot. You don't need to go out and buy a new faucet I'm sure this is the problem especially in a new home.

On the hot water heater is an access panel with a screw at the top and bottom, ( Philips headed screws) loosen the screws, remove the panel, inside you will see a large screw dial with a degrees plate behind it, the large screw with indicator (pointer) will be positioned somewhere around 90- 110* degrees Fahrenheit. All you do is turn the large screw dial up to a degree setting that is comfortable to you, usually a setting of about 120* Fahrenheit is the highest most people will use, but this is a choice that only you can make.
Remember the higher you set the temperature the more electricity the heater will consume, raising your electric bill.

Most water heaters have an adjustable setting at the bottom of your water heater. Mine is a red dial - you can adjust for your max heat comfort - children may scald if you heat up to much. Its really pretty basic once you get to the water heater - if you're renting call the landlord - if you own it look online at the mfr's website for tutorials, or manuals.

Yep...temp control on water heater is too low...and sometimes particles from hot water heater travel through the pipe and get stuck in faucet valve...this restricts the flow and doesn't allow enough hot water to enter your shower head. Check other faucets in house....if they have plenty of pressure and the water is too hot for you to keep you hand under...then its the water valve in bath area....if they are not hot enough...increase to temp on water heater. There is also a safety valve you can install on your shower head. It's a hot water sensor which cuts off the water if it gets to hot which could cause burns. These are a must if you have small children that might turn on hot water by accident....if turns it off for you so your child is not burned.

Ive had this happen to me. First check the hot water heater to see if you can turn the temp up. But what actually worked for me was buying a new shower nozzle. It wasnt let me turn it up all the way hot. I bought a new one that had more "turn" to it. I hope you understand what I mean. Good Luck cause I know how cold showers suck.

There is a temp control on your water heater. turn it up until you feel comfortable heat in the shower. Make sure you tell everyone in the house you did this! Someone could get a bad sclad if they don't know you turned the temp. up!!

Most new houses have a scald control on showers.
If it's only to cold in the shower the scald control is set to low. Remove shower handle or knob. Scald control is there. readjust and retry
