Few high school graduates have political animosity. Most are not really interested in politics at 18 year of age. I think it has little if any bearing on someone joining or not joining the military. It is seen as an opportunity to see the US and world and to learn a marketable skill. It teaches discipline and is a guaranteed job in a tight job market. Soldiers run the political gamut. I didn't join because I had other interests and what the military had to offer I did not appeal to me either.

If thinking people believe that a foreign war (as opposed to a truly defensive war) is not in the best interest of the nation, they might be less willing to serve in that foreign war - yes

The political dialog between the parties is how we determine this

Absolutely not. The two parties have had negative blood between them for years and Military recruiting has not been hurt a bit. It's actually quite high.

I think it is less about so called political animosity and more about not wanted to get killed.

People don't want to be used as pawns, and this administration and its enablers have certainly done so.
