It is just a regular season game. Whoever wins is not guaranteed to win the Super Bowl. A loss isn't going to end either one of their seasons. It is going to be a great game, but I haven't seen an early season game with this much hype in a long time. Do you think that the hype will help or hurt either team?

Hype is what it is...after all, we are watching America's team regain its form by going 5-0 and facing the modern day equivalent to a dynasty in the Patriots.

Yes, it's only a regular season game...but deep down, people want to know, are the Cowboys really this good. Despite the fandom behind the Patriots...people want to see the Cowboys back in the Throne as the best team in the league and they are hoping that this game shows that this season could be the one.

With that being said, the hype will neither hurt nor help the Patriots, as they have been through the ropes of late...however it will help the Cowboys as they are the young and hungry team and this will help build their character...regardless of how the game ends up...

This hype will serve as the training camp for what the Cowboys will face from the media and fans as they go through the playoffs and ultimately Superbowl this year.

Both teams seem to be unswayed by all the hype. the players seem to be very focused on Sunday, and that's good. This means it will be an awesome game. I guess all the hype comes from two 5-0 teams playing aechother for the only the fifth time in NFL history. Is it a preview of the Superbowl? Possibly. But you're right, the winner of this game doesn't automatically mean they will win the superbowl. The only thing this game is going to do is show who will remain in the top two as far as being undefeated. It's not going to define the season. There's still 10 regular season games after this. Anything can happen. But in the meantime, GO COWBOYS!!!!

I think the media hype isn't overdone, since there seems to be an equal amount of excitement and enthusiasm as well from the fans.

I agree that this game isn't going to decide the eventual Super Bowl winner, although my personal guess is that at least one of these teams will be there in January. However, it's not all that often that you get two undefeated teams meeting at this point of the season. Add to that the fact that one of those is "America's Team" and the other is the closest we've had this decade to a dynasty, then throw in Videogate, Tom Brady, Tony Romo, etc., and you've got lots to talk about.

As for its effect, I don't think it will hurt either team. The Cowboys will be plenty pumped up at home, and the Pats are too experienced to let anything get to them.

It's a big game. NFL is all about big games. Every game counts in a season where you only take the field 16 times prior to the playoffs. Yes this is a huge tilt, and yes the media is going to talk about it. Is it too big a deal? Probably, but hey, it's one of the reasons why we love football and fantasy sports so much... speculation and predictions. Enjoy it!

For what it's worth, Pats should win hands down. No one, not even the Colts are in the same league as these guys this year. That said, they're only a few injuries away from being beatable, just like any team in the NFL.

I agree with you that who ever wins is certainly not garenteed to win the superbowl, and in some respects it is getting over hyped.

Short term, this game it might hurt Dallas a little(not much) simply because they have a lot of players that haven't been in this kind of game often. However in the long run that helps because it gives them another one of these kinds of games. Dallas had a couple playoff games and big games last season, but not too many and they seemed to do OK so I dont think this is going to have a huge effect one way or the other on Dallas.

New England it shouldn't effect much at all, they have had a lot of big games over the years, road playoff games at Pittsburg, Denver, Indy, San Diego. Every year they have a couple games everyone circles, so I doubt this effects them much they've been here a thousand times.

No, they are seeing that it might be a preview of the Super Bowl.

In College Football in the 2005 season, it was like in the 2nd or 3rd week when everybody went crazy about the 2 of the highest ranking teams at the time, the Ohio State Buckeyes-Texas longhorn game because the media knew the winner of the game would eventually be heading to the national title game...they were right. Texas won that game, went on the national title game and won.

One year later, Ohio State and Texas played again and it too was a media frenzy, why??? Because they knew the winner was eventually gonna be in the national title game. What happened??? Ohio State won and eventually went to the national title game (where they were upsetted by Florida)

The media sees this as a foreshadow of things to come, and is covering this immensely as they see these 2 facing again in the Superbowl...(or sees atleast one of them making it to the big game)

No the hype isn't too much. I am not a fan of either team but they're both undefeated at this point in the season and it's a possible matchup for the Superbowl.

It's a big game. Two 5-0 teams have never played. It's a bragging rights game. It won't determine who will play in the Super Bowl, but it sure will be fun to brag for the rest of the season after the Cowboys beat the Cheatriots!!

It is too much hype. Season won't be over for either team if they lose (unless of course 3/4 of the players are injured for the rest of the season).

I don't feel that there is enough hype. And finally T.O. has learned to keep his mouth shut. He's a very good WR. But his mouth in the past caused more trouble.
Its going to be a great game, either way. Hopefully the Patriots don't beat up the Boys too badly. The Pats should spot them 14 points though, just to make it fair.
