Have you seen the movie "The Polar Express?" That train travels from the North Pole to everywhere in the world. It's possible, as the arctic north has ice thick enough to drive a train across.
It'll probably be expensive, but you can do it.

England and France have an ocean between them, too, but it's a short enough distance to connect the two countries with an underwater tunnel that a train goes through (I had a friend actually ride it so I 'know' it exists). The distance between the African/European/Asian continents and the North American continent are too far apart to build one.

not from ontario...you have to take a plane to new york, and take the train from there.
