That standard answer on the ti-89 is the exact answer. It will evaluate as much as possible without using decimal approximations. If it evaluated sin(1/2) by giving a decimal number, it would only be an approximation. There are two ways to force it to give you a decimal answer.

1. Put a decimal in what you enter. for instance sin(0.5) or even sin(1. /2)

2. after you type your expression sin(1/2) press the green button then enter. You can see two little green curvy lines over the enter key. This means approximate. pressing this will give you a decimal approximation of the answer.

The Ti-30 is only a customary calculator it rather is no longer a graphing calculator like the Ti-89 and Ti-80 4. The Ti-89 is the suited calculator out of the three via far because of the fact it does very almost each and every thing you will decide for. Now i'm no longer likely to propose you bypass and destroy the regulations yet how great is the class? Scratch which you already talked on your prof so he in all possibility could have his eye on you. Ask him how plenty graphing would be in touch on the attempt it would in all possibility help your score the three-5%
