Why do feminists seem to be under the impression that this forum 'belongs' to them? (Not to women generally, mind you, just to feminists.) And why do some of these feminists want to split the forum into a Women's section and a Men's section, if they truly believe in equality and interaction as they so often claim to? Do they have something to hide? Do they have a hidden agenda of their own?
What are your thoughts?

@Rebel F - I have given you a thumbs up not because I agree with what you say, I think you are completely deluded and misled, but because I think you are sincere in what you believe. Sincerity is next to godliness.

When the initial "Women's Studies" forum was instituted a number of the original 'Feminist' contributors went to great lengths to try keep Men away by insisting that this was 'Their' section and that Men could go to the 'Masculine' subjects, such as sports, cars, military, etc. It soon became obvious that Women wanted to hear feedback from their Male counterparts. This in turn created something of a schism between, on the one hand, Women who respected the right of an individual to express an opinion (regardless of how unpalatable it might be), and certain Feminists who decried the incursion into Their domain (the propagandizing of the differences between the genders). Apart from a few Men who have maintained an interest, and shown Our support for this forum, the rest of the Male contributors have only been 'gawking' at the posted questions and answers, with a merely transient association to 'Women's Studies'. It was in fact the average 'Women' who welcomed Male contribution rather than opposed it. The 'Gender' prefix to this section was only recently added as a result of the combined efforts of members of both genders, dissimilar agendas and affiliated political associations.
More than half the Men who now ask questions, or, conversely answer, are relatively new comers to 'G&WS, and as such are not aware of the great changes that have been made since it's conception.
As to the subject of 'Ownership', that remains in the hands of the creators of Yahoo 'Answers', and no one else.

Let us say that the feminists do actually believe this forum belongs to them; there is no way they can kick anyone out unless the so-said person is going against community guidelines. The real fact of life is that people do have hidden agendas that's a common factor in the world. As for me my cards have been laid out on the table.

You have gone down a scary path with this one dude. There are a lot of different kids of feminists. It's just a label, not something that can really be proven about someone. Some are much more militant and man-hating than others and they don't want equality, they want superiority. But the majority is for equality and they don't really care who posts here, so long as they don't say something purposely firing people up or something really chauvinistic. Kind of like lumping all "feminists" into one category.

I just think that people don't know what "Women's Studies" or "Gender Studies" means.
With that said, on a forum like Yahoo, it's not surprising that the forum ended up like this, and it's fun the way it is. I wouldn't want to see it split up into Men's and Women's sections - some of the people on here are rude and ridiculous, but most are wonderful and I like the contributions that both men AND women make.

I am in favor of there being men's sections and women's sections because many of the men here seem to WANT it that way. Tons of men have come into this section and complained that there is not a section for them (not as much recently though). If they want one, they should have one. It's only fair.
I have nothing against positive interaction that deals with equality. I'm just tired of chauvinists coming in here and woman-bashing. Perhaps a separate men's section would curb some of that. Though the women do sometimes bash the men, it's overwhelmingly the other way around (or so it seems to me).
As far as why feminists think it belongs just to them, I guess it's because of the fact that "Women's Studies" is in the title of this section, and as a discipline that mostly deals with feminist/female issues. Not to suggest that men should be barred from discussing such issues or shouldn't be able to call themselves feminists, but all too many men would rather bash women or feminists than have rational discussions (not ALL men here are like that, certainly...but definitely enough to make it noticeable). Granted, "Gender" is in the title as well.
As far as whether we have an agenda or something to hide...well, of course not. It's not like we are developing some master plan to rule the world. If I have any sort of "agenda" as far as establishing a separate section for men, it's only to have a little more peace and quiet here, and not so much bashing, though we can definitely still have challenging discussions.
Additionally, I don't think that separatism necessarily MUST imply that you favor inequality..."separate but equal" has definitely failed us often in the past, but that doesn't mean the idea itself is wrong, but rather its manifestations thus far have been flawed.

explanation why feminist have frown out each thing that is effective to adult adult males is with the help of the fact they want existence to be grotesque for adult adult males. in case you count selection the collective intelligence of feminist thinkers and adult adult males rights thinkers you will launch that we are outnumbered(adult adult males rights). whilst adult adult males rights activist attempt to advance the existence adult adult males and boys such has convalescing they self esteem, attempting to interrupt them removed from the effective guy syndrome or help them conquer melancholy they accuse us of being sexist. they say that we are limited adult adult males to they gender roles(in field them)and we are actually not being advantageous place fashions for boys. Feminist have been attempting to redefine define the way boys and adult adult males could be like. something that is going against they way of thinking is a probability to feminist.

A forum that was originally named "Women's Studies" was likely set up to attract a large number of feminists. However, this doesn't mean that we should be the only ones here, or that we should attempt to silence anyone who disagrees with us (unless they happen to be flagrant offenders of community guidelines).
