The Dutch, and many other societies, proved a long time ago that the sea bed is very fertile and can be used for farm land by building dikes and draining the sea water. Cattle ranchers along the Gulf coast of Texas let their cattle graze on the grasses that grow along the coast because they say the salt improves the flavour of the beef.

2 3/4" apart but I see a huge spanner the works here, I know you only have a small allotment and therefore could only accommodate 3.5 seahorses. An average giraffe needs to consume 12 seahorses a day to survive, I have to stress I see this particular project if yours failing much like the commercially farmed sloths idea to be used as insulation.

It all depend in what kind of crop you are planning to plant.
Some crops will do very well near the sea, other wouldn't. So you must know first what would you like.

It depends on the soil no matter where you are, but I wouldn't want to be too close because the tide might wash my crops away!

Just passed the high tide mark. Nearly all soil is fertile as long as it gets fresh water. Good luck.
