Well, let's count:

Dr. No
From Russia With Love
Goldfinger
Thunderball
Diamonds Are Forever
You Only Live Twice
A remake of Thunderball, for some reason
...and then he came back as an aging Bond in Never Say Never Again.

I count 8. After Sean Connery, George Lazenby was a very big-eared Bond for only one film (On Her Majesty's Secret Service) and then Roger Moore took over for the 70's and early 80's installments, and then Timothy Dalton was the 80's Bond (and a sucky one at that) in "Moonraker" and "License to Kill", and then Pierce Brosnan did a lovely job in the 90's and early 00's with Goldeneye, Tomorrow Never Dies, The World is Not Enough, and Die Another Day. That brings us right up to Daniel Craig, who looks nothing like Bond, but was very good nonetheless in "Casino Royale." Oh, yes, and there was also a spoof-y kind of Bond movie also entitled "Casino Royale" back in the 60's, starring David Niven as a very buffoonish, almost Austin Powers-like Bond.

Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton have been plenty extra suitable. Pierce Brosnan became poor. i've got not considered Daniel Craig so i will no longer be able to remark yet he's no longer a variety of of an actor from the different action pictures he's been in. i'm in all probability between the only people who did no longer like Sean Connery as Bond.
