You both get the same amount in SS if you had the same pay. How long you live is not the governments issue. How about this though if a man works, his wife can file on him when she retires but can a stay at home husband file on the working wife upon retirement???

Imagine what you would have to do to figure out how long someone is going to live so you can make sure they pay ONLY what they will use during their lifetimes. Last I knew, there wasn't a way to do that. I could go out today and get hit by a truck and die. Then I wouldn't get any of the money I paid into it. Is the gov't going to refund that money to my family? This is ridiculous.

Because a woman's work is never done, stop griping, work harder than her and get promoted that way you'll get more than her.
Or maybe her pension contributions are higher than yours ie the more you put in the more you get out.

She could also die before you. No one can accurately predict how long someone will live. All I can advise is to eat healthy and outlive her so you will feel better.
