I have a speech in french class about a famous person in france what would be more interesting for american students?? Jeanne D'Arc or Voltaire or someone else

Both are good choices. Jeanne does have a tragic story that most Americans know at least something about, but I like Voltaire. With Voltaire you could talk about his book "Candide". Many Americans can relate to the sarcasm in this cynical satire.
I also like Voltaire's quote, "If God did not exist, we would need to invent Him."
Another choice might be the Marquis de Lafayette. Good Luck.

Voltaire is incredible and although most students know something about Joan, not that many know who Voltaire was and the importance of him in his time. Read Candide

Joan of Arc would be more interesting to students because hers was a life (and death) of action.
