I spilled some milk in the trunk of my car and thought I got it all up but didn't realize some got down under the extra tire. I've cleaned it up but the smell still lingers. HELP!!!!

Get a spray bottle and mix 1/2 water with 1/2 white vinegar. Spray this solution into the trunk. Maybe leave it open for awhile so it can air out a little. You may have to use it a time or two, but it will help neutralize the odor.

Spray a lot of vinegar on that area and it will go away.I had shrimp juice leak out of an ice chest in my trunk,in the Summer.Got the vinegar poured it on the area, and left the trunk up for a while.Once it dried poured some more on it,just in caes.It works.

I would try to find out what hospitals/schools use to remove the smell of vomit.

They have roughly the same smell.

A woman vomited in my car once, and it went down into the seatbelt mechanism. I had to take all of it apart, and clean it with toothpicks/toothbrush.

Probably taking out the spare tire, and cleaning every little crack of the tire will help. Good luck!

I have 3 answers for you.

1. take a spray bottle of vinegar and water and spray it down there.

2. Loose coffee grounds will take the smell out of anything and then vaccum it up when you clean your car.

3. sprinkle baking soda this will also absorb the smell.

I like the coffee grounds better. Trust me this works.

good luck

Try a carpet cleaner with baking soda in it along with a hand held steamer if you have one. Also, use lots of febreeze and air out the trunk. The worst thing to do is let the smell molder in a hot trunk! Good luck.

white vinegar will neutralize most objectionable smells....if a dilute solution of one part vinegar to three parts clear water doesn't do the trick, then you can try the vinegar full strength...mind you your car trunk will smell like pickles for a few days but it will fade away.....try sprinkling baking soda and leaving that on a few days, then vacuum up if the idea of vinegar turns you off, or follow up with baking soda after the vinegar...either one is a cheap, effective' green' solution and will not harm most materials..good luck

I was going to say get rid of the milk, but then I saw the rest of your question.

Cover it with baking soda, let it dry for a day or so, then vacuum it up.

If this doesn't work, take it to one of those full-service car washes and show them the problem. They can handle most any situation like that. It may cost around $25-$50 to have it done.

Baking soda sprinkled into the well (after you have cleaned out the milk residue) will get rid of the smell

Pour salt on it. Lots and lots of salt. Then take your vacuum, put on the attachment with the scrubbing bristles, and really rub it in. Once all the salt is vacuumed up, the smell will be gone.
