Ordinarily, the Democrats should win the 2008 election hands down. Bush has screwed up in Iraq so much that there are going to be lots of "anybody but another Republican" votes being cast. And a lot of them are going to come from the people who really make the difference in any election...the "middle of the road" undecided voters.
The ONLY chance a Republican has to win the Presidency is if the Democrats nominate Hillary Clinton as their candidate. She is just THAT damn divisive, and unlikeable....and quite frankly, most people don't trust her.
She was always very liberal, for example. OK...nothing wrong with that...it's a perfectly reasonable political philosophy, which many people agree with. One of the most basic tenets of liberalism was always that women don't lie about sexual harrassment. Yet, when Jennifer Flowers and Paula Jones both accused Bill of exactly that...the first thing Hillary did was start making phone calls to set up attacks on both women. And Gail Sheehy...a long-time friend of Hillary's...even wrote that...when the Monica Lewinsky mess hit, Hillary said, "Bill just doesn't GET IT!" before calling and setting up a meeting to decide how best to attack the people who were clamoring for an investigation. So that means that Hillary KNEW Bill was guilty...and yet she was willing to attack victimized women just to protect her acces to power.
And haven't we had enough politicians like that?
Hillary may get elected no matter what. To many, she represents a big victory over those hated Republicans...and she'll run an absolutely ruthless campaign.
But against her, at least, the Republicans are in the game. I think Rudy Giuliani would have a real good chance to beat her. (His weakness...marital relations...is an even weaker subject for Hillary...so she won't want to go there.)
If the Democrats nominate Obama, it's all over. Republicans have no shot.
Quite frankly, I think the country would be much better off if we NEVER have another Bush or Clinton as President.

I don't like either of them. The only Republican candidate I like is Ron Paul.
But my support is for Dennis Kucinich. He is a man of the people. He has an outstanding record. He is a brilliant and down to earth man. Romney is an elitist and clueless. I am in MA. He made some huge mistakes here and did nothing the last year or so he was in office because he was too busy running for President. He's a selfish jerk. Thompson is intellectually lazy and incompetent. He can't even be prepared for a debate. His work ethic is horrid. I think that would cause him to make a lot of bad decisions.
I don't care for Giulani because he's too pompous. I don't buy his sincerity. He is more of a democrat than the other candidates, according to my dad anyway who is supporting Ron Paul. He tends to vote Republican. He is upset with the war and wants us out. He never supported the war. (Kucinich opposed the war as did Ron Paul)
I don't like Hillary but I'll vote for her before any Republican because she's a worker. I trust her to do the work required. I don't trust any of the Republicans to do the work and make sound judgments. That's my problem with them. They have been stabbing us hard-working Americans in the back too many times for me to vote for them any longer. I've had enough.

Sorry but they have a better shot then Giuliani.. I strongly suggest you read this:
Giuliani hasn't even been able to carry his own state, even Romney can... And also don't forget many religous right leaders have decided not to support Giuliani... and there are some that have already stated they will vote for a third party candidate.. Giuliani will NEVER WIN
-His current co-chair has been quoted as saying "Blacks are retarted"
-He declined to sign a pledge not to raise taxes or create new taxes, confirming the possibility of higher taxes for the average American under his presidency.
- Rudy has no foreign policy experience
-Contrary to popular belief he does not support gay marriage, only civil unions!
-People assume he will be tough on fighting “terrorism” but he can’t even manage to support keeping our borders secure. According to him “illegal immigration is not a crime” expect wage depression, a higher rate of unemployment and a bigger health care crisis under his presidency as well. Also “it has been alleged that Giuliani never read 9/11 Commission's Report and that he did not attend any meetings of the Iraq Study Group after being appointed to it in early 2006.”
-The fact Rudy Giuliani is “America’s mayor” is simply a myth. Due to his negligence he caused more deaths on 9/11. He suspended the search at ground zero when 242 firefighters were still missing because of outdated radios which Giuliani was warned about!
-And New York City’s crime rate being down attributes to police Commissioner Bill Bratton, Rudy had nothing to do with it.. “Bratton, not Giuliani, was featured on the cover of Time Magazine in 1996.[54] Giuliani forced Bratton out of his position after two years, in what was generally seen as a battle of two large egos in which Giuliani was unable to accept Bratton's celebrity”

Two strong republicans running on the same ticket could do it. Hillary has a couple of trump cards:
1. She is a woman and many women will vote for her because of this.
2. She is a great actress with promises that are impossible to fulfill.

Republican nominee doesn't really matter if the dems send Hillary. Despite what the media says I have yet to talk to one democrat in person who likes her. Most I have met are split between Edwards and Obama. people just don't like her

Thomson or Romney can't even beat Giuliani, so they have no chance against Hillary Clinton.
Rudy has no chance against Senator Clinton.
So you Neocons might as well face the truth, you are going to lose and you are going to lose big.

I think no matter what a Democrat is going to win. The economy is taking a dive and they will run it into the ground. Women, just want to see a woman win. And African Americans just want to see an African American win irregardless of the issues.
